Chapter 4

"I will save you,  father"

dipper's pov:

I woke up to light shining into my eyes.  I rubbed them groggily and sat up looking around me. "oh yeah,  I fell asleep down here" I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and got out of the chair near Ford's desk.   I cleaned it up last night and dusted a bit,  Ithink it was around 3 am before I fell asleep. I turned and looked at the big clock on the wall behind me,   8:00 am.   I groaned and stretched my arms above my head.   I picked up my faded blue pine tree hat and looked at it,   huh,  pine tree,  I blinked.   I had a flashback to the first time  I met ʜɪᴍ.   I looked around Grunkle Stan's mind world and saw the floating yellow triangle man before me,   Bill Cipher.  I blinked and I was back in Ford's study.  I sighed and ran a hand through my brown hair.  I decided it was probably time to head upstairs,   I walked out of the study and went to the elevator going up to the ground floor and walking out of it,  up the path and pressing the button to open the vending machine door,  thankfully no one was around to see me come out cause the gift shop was closed today.  

I walked out of the giftshop and into the living room where my sister and Stanley were watching old episodes of ducktective.  I smiled at the two, I hadn't watched this show in years,  not since that horrible season finale where we found out Ducktective's had a twin brother the whole time.   I mean seriously,  THAT was the plot twist we were waiting for ?   Stanley saw me and grinned running up to me for a hug "dip dip!"  i chuckled at his name for me. "hey there Stan the man,  watchin Ducktective ?"  he nodded and let me go,  sittingn back down as Mabel looked at me,  "Soos had to go shopping and Melody is out back gardening so i figured i could show him this."   I nodded and went to the kitchen and got a mug and filled it with fresh coffee and went back to the living room to sit on the couch behind my sister and Stanley.    We sat watching tv for awhile before the phone started ringing.  I stood up and went to answer it,  hearing a fimilar southern voice come from the other end.  "hello?"   "howdy dipper, how's it goin?"  I smiled happily "hey mcgucket,  what can I do for you?"  he was silent for a moment before he  spoke "I need you guys to come up to the mansion,  I found something"  I sighed and told him we would be there soon and hung up,  turning to Mabel "hey sis we gotta go up to the mansion,  Mcgucket says he has something for us"  she nodded "ill call the others,  can you go grab my backpack?"  I nodded and made my way back upstairs.

When i went up to our old room, i looked around, everything seemed so much bigger back then. I have to sleep on the couch in the room me and Mabel fought over a long time ago, cause the attic space is only big enough for Mabel and waddles. i grabbed her purple backpack. We decided when we got home to California we would get conpletely different colored backpacks after what happened. i picked it up, her grappling hook hanging from the side of it and put it over my shoulder and went back down the stairs. I heard Mabel on speaker phone with Wendy as I was heading to my room. I turned down the hall and went through tbe door, leaving it open. I grabbed my bag, a flashlight, some snacks and most importantly, a metal baseball bat that i stuck between my belt and jeans. You never know if you need to wack some gnomes or something running around Gravity Falls. I left the room and walked back to the living room and tossed Mabel her bag, she caught it and together we left Stanley jr to sit by himself to watch cartoons.

I stood next to Mabel infront of the mansion gates.   I took a deep breath in and pushed the button on the speaker, it buzzed and soon the gates opened up.   together we stepped inside and went to the door,  before i could knock it opened up to reveal a boy a bit shorter than me with short slicked back white hair and bright blue eyes. "wait"  Mabel finished my sentence with her jaw dropped  "G..gideon?"  the boy smiled up at us and spoke in his southern accent "Mabel, Dipper  welcome back to gravity falls"  I stood there in shock,   he wasnt chubby anymore,  infact he really grew up in the past five years,   he had on a light blue button up shirt and black dress pants.  I blinked a few times and shook my head to rid myself of the shock "man Gideon,  youve really grown"  he smiled with pute blinding white teeth "Ive been workin real hard on myself since you two left, ive even workin with mcgucket on the weirdness here." he opened the door the rest of the way and gestured for us to come inside,  Mabel went in first,  clearly wanting to get inside and away from Gideon as fast as possible. I smiled at him and went inside too,  shutting the door behind me.

As we entered the front hall of the mansion I looked around,  Gideon's gang of former criminals were standing around at different places,  guarding the entrances.  Footsteps came from a side corridor as a skinny man with a trimmed grey beard and glasses walked in, he smiled "Heya pines twins good ta see yall again"  I smiled and walked up to him and shook his hand "Wow Mcgucket you look comepletely different" he nodded "Yeah ever since i got my memories back I reckoned I should clean myself up more" Mabel smiled "You did an amazing job"   suddenly footsteps came from the room Fiddleford came from,  Candy, Grenda, and Wendy walked out,  my heart rate started to pick up. The doorbell rang and one of the guards opened it to reveal Pacifica,  she walked in and Fiddleford put his hands together. "alright now that everyone is here lets get this show on the road"  He led the way to the dining room where papers upon papers sat all over,  along with a few laptops.   Fiddleford shut the door behind them,  as I looked around I realized there were symbols written all over the windows and the back of the door.Gideon noticed me eyeing them and spoke up "they are to protect the room and everyone and everything inside from evil and weirdness" I nodded,  I forgot he had one of the journals for a long time, he must have memorized the spells in it. 

Fiddleford turned off the lights and pulled down a big white tarp.  He took a remote out of his pocket and a projector turned on,   a map of the world appeared with a red dot "this is Stanley and Stanford's last known location,  they were on a ship heading east back here to oregon when their ship went down,  the ship was recovered but neither of them were found. We all sat in chairs around the table and stared at the picture.  I couldnt believe their ship went down in the middle of the ocean.   Clearly no one else thought it would happen either. Mabel stood up before everyone else, the palms of her hands resting on the table's surface "We have to find them" Candy typed on one of the laptops as she spoke next "We may need more help than just the 8 of us, we aren't that big of a team" everyone thought of who we could bring on that was helpful when I thought of someone, or rather two people.
