I flipped through the tv channels absentmindedly. I wasn't looking for anything in particular to watch. I was just trying to tune out the sound of my parents screaming at each other. It's sad really. We're supposed to be a family but most of the time it feels like we're enemies forced to interact. Despite being surrounded by people I feel so very alone. I wish I had some way to be surrounded by people who would never leave me-

"I love you sempai!"

I stopped flicking. The TV displayed an anime protagonist surrounded by cute girls fighting for his love. It was clearly some kind of harem anime-

"That's it!" I stood up suddenly. I should make my own harem! My flirting skills are off the charts so it shouldn't be difficult.

"Kris" my mothers voice knocked me out of my thoughts. I turned to see her eyes were red and puffy from crying "it's time to go to school my child"

"Right" I nodded as I followed behind her with an uneasy feeling in my chest. After today I'll never have to feel like this again.

*Time skip*

"Have a good day my child" mom gave me a hug before walking over to her class.

I walked to my class lost in thought. These people I chose have to be perfect. They're going to be the people I spend the rest of my life with! They can be girls or boys I'm not really picky just as long as their good people who I feel comfortable.

"Oh Kris. You know for someone whose mother works here you're not very punctual" miss alphys chuckled.

"Sorry miss alphys" I muttered. I didn't feel like explaining my home situation.

"That's alright. Please go find a partner" oh I'll find a partner alright!

I looked around at my classmates. To be honest I wasn't impressed. Monster kid and snowdrake are immature gossips, catty is lazy beyond belief, jockentons too much of a dudebro, temmi is well temmis, birdly is an annoying egotist and Noelle is too closely linked to happy memories. At this rate I won't be able to find a study partner never mind a har-
