Kris pov
"Come on Kris just a little farther" Noelle forced me up a hill. My legs were hurting and I was breathless but Noelle seemed fine. How does she do it?
"Is it much farther" I panted.
"Yep it's right here" we'd finally reached the top of the hill. I collapsed onto my back. It's then I realised what this place was.
"Do you remember?" Noelle lay down beside me "we used to come here every day after school and just lay here staring at the clouds. I used to think you were so weird for wanting to do that but I can understand now. Cloud watching can really make your worries melt away"
"Yeah" I nodded and I stared up at those big white balls in the sky "remember when azzy and dess would come and fetch us cause we stayed out way past dinner time"
"Oh yeah" Noelle burst out laughing "dess face got so red that I thought it was going to explode!"
The two of us laughed together. A couple of weeks ago I would have been avoiding those memories. Memories of dess, memories of azzy. It just hurts too much to think about but yet here we are laughing about it. I thank my lucky stars for that conversation we had in the dark world.
"Thank you for taking me here" I lay on my side and gently stroked her face.
"No problem. It is our special spot after all" she blushed at my gentle touch.
The two of us spent the rest of the day staring into each other's eyes.
