Kris pov
I reached the middle of the city. Colourful buildings stretched up to the sky. It was kinda cool. I've always wanted to visit a city-
"Kris!" My thoughts were cut off by Noelle running up to me "she's coming, please hide me!"
"In the alley" I ushered her into the alleyway as queen appeared.
"Ah hello Kris, have you seen my darling sweetie honey pie Noelle?" Before I could answer..
"My queen where are you?" Birdlys voice rang out.
"Oh god don't let him find me!" Queen ran into the alleyway, doing an impressive splits above Noelles head.
"My que- huh I thought she was here" birdly scratched his head "at least you're here Kris. Being alone in this place is kinda freaky"
"Yeah it is" I raised an eyebrow. I think this is the most normal conversation I've ever had with birdly!
"Hey Kris have you seen my number two Noelle?" He tapped his fingers anxiously.
"No I haven't" I folded my arms. If I told him he'd just hand her over to queen first chance he got.
"Hic" my head shot up. Is he crying!? "I'm sorry. I'm just so worried. This adventure was so much fun. I was so happy to get away from my home, to make a smartopia. I thought Noelle felt the same. Did I make a mistake?"
"Birdly" I muttered. I didn't realise the boy cared about anyone but himself. His insecure nature is kinda endearing. One could say it was... cute.
"What do I do Kris? I don't want her to get hurt-"
"Don't panic" I reached out and touched his face "I'm right here"
"What the heck!" Queen yelped.
"Ha!" Noelle let out a muffled gasped.
"Did you hear something-ekk!" I pulled him into my chest before he could see the girls.
"I didn't hear a thing" I said quickly "clearly the stress is getting to you. You could use a hug baby blue"
"B-b-baby" birdly's face turned a deep red.
"Ok let's split up and search for her" I pulled away and sent him the opposite direction.
"Ok" he stumbled away, still flustered from our encounter.
"Thanks for the rescue" Noelle crawled out as soon as queen left "think we can team up?"
