13 - Dark

Naunang bumaba sila Kol na kasunod ko lang, tapos si Liu mabilis rin na bumaba. Sumunod rin ang dalawa. Hinubad ko ang helmet ko at agad si sinulyapan si Win na panay ang mura dahil sa pagkatalo.

Binato ko ang helmet sa loob ng sasakyan at hinintay bumaba ang nasa Camaro.

I was mad, yes. I can't believe I lost in street racing!

Naghihintay kaming lahat at nagulat nang bumaba ang lalaki. The man with his hair brush up looks intimidating with his dark expression.

"Dude. What the fuck?" Si Win.

Kumunot ang noo ko at natawa.

Oh, this fucker!

Hindi niya pinansin ang reklamo ng mga kaibigan niya. Si Shot at Sai ay lumapit at nang-usisa din. I saw some of his friends who were there yesterday in the resort.

"What's happening?" Si Sai.

Iritadong bumaling si Liu kay Eusebius at nagbulungan sila. Malakas ang speaker dito at mukhang may mga susunod pang maglalaro dahil may mga sports car na nakahalera. Hindi ako lumapit sa kanila at sinipa ko ang gulong ng Subaru. Kahit kailan talaga, panira itong lalaking 'to!

Lumapit dito si Winchester at halatang dismayado rin.

"Hey..." Bati niya.

"Seems like we both lost." I tried to laugh.

He chuckled hotly. "Yeah, I think so..."

I leaned into the car door and gave him a sweet smile. I wet my lips and he did the same while staring at me. He's wearing an all-black outfit. Leather jacket, black pants, shirt, boots, and gloves. His clean-cut makes him look leaner. Eyes were dazzling and charming. Almost as tall as me. He looks hot and cute at the same time.

Dumapo ang mata ko sa pintuan ng sasakyan niya at nabasa ko ang sticker.

"Sy, are you somehow connected to Rynoa?" Kuryoso kong tanong.

Nagulat ako dahil tumango siya. "Archimedes is my cousin."

"Really?" Damn!

I got excited to talk to him. But before I can even ask more questions, nasa tabi ko na si Eusebius.

"Sebyo, akala ko hindi ka na lalaro?" Winchester looks amused now.

Tinawag siya ni Liu bago pa ulit nakasagot si Eusebius kaya naiwan na kami ditong dalawa. Now, my anger lingered because he's looking at me without expression!

"What?"

"I told you not to go anywhere." Galit niyang sabi.

"Well, fuck. I already knew that the General was not there. I'll stay in the mansion." I said with finality.

"No." Sabi niya na nagpatawa sa akin.

"You can't stop me."

"Your cousins are staying in the mansion."

What the fuck? Ano naman ginagawa nung mga yon dito?

I hate Tito Egnyr's sons and we're not close. They were in the military, just like most Delaños.

"Don't do this again. This is fucking illegal," I look at him with a fake smile plastered on my face.

Bakit ikaw?

"I am serious, Les. Listen to me for a while. You know that the General won't let pass another mistake again."

Bumuntong hininga siya at parang may kung anong nagkumahog sa dibdib ko. What is this? After all of his insults, he cares now? I chuckled that thought out of my mind.

"Okay, then." Umiwas ako ng tingin.

I don't want to stay with my cousins anyway.

The way he said how illegal this race is as if he didn't play. Based on Win's reaction, he rides too.

"Congrats." Bati ko at umambang papasok na sa sasakyan.

"Drive my car," Iniabot niya ang susi sa akin. "Ako na ang mag-uuwi ng sasakyan mo."

Ang pala desisyon na si Eusebius ay sinunod ko na lang. Hindi niya na hinintay na matapos ang race. Nagpaalam siya na aalis na kami at wala na rin silang nagawa.

I almost forgot about the prize. Just a favor from anyone who lost the game. I was gonna ask Winchester a favor but yeah, maybe some other time.

Natulog ako pagdating sa resort at hindi na nag-abalang kumain. Wala rin akong gana dahil pakiramdam ko, tinotorture ako dito. I love freedom so much that I spoiled myself for the past years. Now that everyone seem to recovered from my little whimps, I think I won't be able to do my obssessions from now on. Kuya Celestian is my number one shield from the General but he didn't do anything.

Alas nuebe nang nagising ako. Wala si Eusebius sa loob kaya lumabas ako dahil gutom na rin ako.

I was supposed to go to the restaurant but I saw Eusebius and his friends at the seaside. They're probably drinking around that bonfire. I just shrugged my shoulders and continued walking.

This restaurant is made in a loft style. I sat near the open terrace. The cottage resto was dim and lovely.

I ordered food but the one who came first was Eusebius.

Naupo siya sa harap ko at pansin ko ang pamumula ng moreno niyang mukha. Hindi ko pinansin at binuksan ko ang phone ko. As if nothing happened earlier, he was casually esting with me. Ni hindi na nagtanong kung bakit ko siya sinuway kanina.

"We're going back tomorrow in my house." Pagbasag niya sa malalim na katahimikan.

Tumango lang ako. Nag order siya ng soup for hang over at hinayaang payapa ang pagkain ko.

"When will I leave?" I looked at him after I finished my food.

Ngumuso siya. "Not sure..."

Sumandal ako sa upuan. Mukhang inaantok na siya. Hindi yata umeepekto sa dami ng alak na ininom niya.

"What do you mean? Can't you just tell the General that I am fine?" I hoped.

He closed his eyes first. "Time will come."

Time my ass. You know me because of my fathers' remarks. Alam kong hindi maganda ang tingin ng Ama ko sa akin kaya pilit niyang itinatago ang mga kalokohan ko. Sa batas man o sa buong pamilya namin. Kung hinusgahan ako ng General, edi masama talaga ang tingin sa akin nitong inutusan niya. Baka nga sinabi pa lahat ng kabulastugan ko dati kaya ganito na lang umasta 'to. I really can't understand why he can't tell me when he knows that I am hopeless.

"Time will just pass." Madilim na ang tingin ko sa kaniya.

Wala rin naman akong pupuntahan ngayon. Kahit saan siguro, mahahanap ako. At ayokong maparusahan ulit dahil malapit na ang graduation ko.

I don't care about how they see me. I want to do what I want and be myself at all times. Fitting this crowd where I don't belong feels dark and dangerous. I need to leave here soon.
