3rd POV

The skies darken as thunder and lightning fill the air. Panning down we see a rather large facility resting in the middle of the woods. Going inside and to the heart we see lots of scientists working around a large cylindrical container. Inside it is a large black mass just floating. Going to the balcony railing we see two men. One on the young side while the other on the old side.

Young: "Are you sure this is ethical? I mean is it right to play god like this?"

Old: "Calm your worries. If this works then this'll provide us the key we've been looking for."

Young: "But still, it just doesn't feel right. We-"

Old: "Hush. Science requires us to push the boundaries of what we should do. The point is to go over the line, do what no one else will in order to know the unknown."

Young: "This could pose a likely threat. If it gains enough consciousness then it could grow curious. It'd want to learn about itself and the world it walks."

Old: "Which is why it's being contained here. Several miles from any major land. Perfect isolation for this kinda experiment.

Scientist: "Sir, we're ready."

Old: "Good. Begin DNA transference."

They nod heading to a desk. From there they push several buttons. This makes a tube snake into the container of the black mass. The scientist pushes a final button. A liquid fills the container before being absorbed by the black mass. When the liquid has been fully absorbed seemingly nothing has happened.

Young: "Did it fail?"

Old: "Somebody tell me something."

Scientist: "We have full DNA absorption. No vitals."

The old man hangs his head.

Young: "I'm sorry sir. I wish-"

There's suddenly a beep. Another beep follows then another and another. Soon a steady rhythm is created.

Scientist: "Sir, we have vitals. It's alive."

The old man smiles walking to the container. He places his hand on the glass.

Old: "I've given you life. Now grow my creation. Grow so that we may see your power."

The black mass wiggles as a tiny tendril moves forward squishing against the glass. The old man smiles once again before turning around.

Old: "Alright everyone, mission accomplished. We've created a hybrid"

They all cheer.

Old: "Now we must watch as it matures. When it's ready we'll set to work on training it."

They emit another cheer.

Old: "Josh, front and center."

Josh runs to the old man.

Josh: "Yes sir?"

Old: "You're in charge of watching over my creation as it grows."

Josh: *salutes* "Yes sir."

The old man begins walking away.

Old: "Can you feel it Josh? We're so close. Close to ending this war between humans and Grimm. I can practically taste it."

*timeskip*

In only a few months the black mass grew and evolved into a human. He's grown to six foot with over half of his weight being muscle. As he floats in his less spacious container Josh and the old man watch him.

Josh: "He's bigger than I thought he'd be."

Old: "He was given special genetics to help him in his rapid growth. If we didn't give them to him then he'd just explode into a mass of flesh and bone."

Josh: "Still, with his size it'll make controlling him harder."

Old: "Fear not Josh, I have everything under control."

Suddenly the human's eyes open. He begins thrashing trying to escape his container.

Old: "Let him out."

Scientist: "But-"

Old: "Do it."

The scientist presses a button opening the container. The human spills onto the floor showing difficulty breathing. The old man rushes to his side.

Old: "Breathe, use your lungs."

The human pounds his chest before letting out a loud inhale. From there he take deep breaths getting used to his new set of lungs. The old man then looks at the human.

Old: "Can you understand me?"

The human remains silent.

Josh: "Is he okay?"

Old: "He will be. He just needs to learn. In this state he's nothing more than a helpless child."

The old man stands up.

Old: "I know all of this must seem strange. But you'll understand it all someday. This is Josh. He's gonna teach you everything you need to know."
