Caught

3rd POV

The world moves in slow motion. A maelstrom of bullets head for Ruby. Her eyes widen as her impending death comes closer. Meanwhile Y/N moves as fast as he can move his body. Right when the bullets comes within inches Y/N morphs into a Beringel using his body to shield Ruby.

His body's lit up with bullets. He screams at the top of his lungs as thousands of bullets either ricochet off of him or puncture his body. Meanwhile Ruby can only watch in horror as Y/N is shot to kingdom come.

Robot: "Cease fire."

The robots cease fire finally stopping the bullet storm. 

Ruby: "Y/N?"

He lets out a meek growl before falling limp. Ruby runs to his side.

Ruby: "No, don't die on me!"

Robot: "Please, step away from the Grimm."

Ruby: "He's not a Grimm! He's a man!!!"

Various people begin watching the unfolding scene.

Robot2: "Mam please, it's not safe."

Ruby: "You shot an innocent man!"

One robot manages to grab Ruby then begins dragging her away. Y/N's eye faintly opens spotting the retreating Ruby. He softly lows while reaching out for her as she does the same. She manages to break free running towards him. But two more robots grab her. This pushes Y/N's anger causing his eyes to turn blood red. 

Pushing past his unfathomable pain he lets out a long roar. There's several seconds of silence. The ground rumbles scaring people. Centinels then arise from the ground yanking the robots under the ground. As their numbers dwindle Y/N picks himself up walking to Ruby

She does the same with the distance between them quickly getting smaller. But before they can meet a single robot fires a stun round between Y/N's eyes knocking him out. With their leader down the Centinels begin retreating. This allows Ruby to be restrained and a collar to be placed around Y/N's neck.

Ruby: "Let him go!!!"

Ironwood: "Get her out of here! Nothing to worry about folks. Things are under control."

The people stare before leaving. Meanwhile Ironwood leans next to a robot.

Ironwood: "Secure that thing and bring it to the lab. I want to know everything about it."

Robot: "Right away sir."

*timeskip*

We find Ironwood watching a video of a sleeping Y/N. He then has Ruby march to where he's at.

Ironwood: "Where is it?"

Ironwood: "The Grimm? Right here."

He hands her the scroll.

Ruby: *quietly* "Y/N. You need to release it."

Ironwood: "That thing was able to control the Grimm. It's a high level threat."

Ruby: "That thing, kept your robots from killing me when I was covered in Grimm blood. If they had then you would've had to explain why your robots killed an innocent girl."

Ironwood: "I'm sorry for my robots mistaking you. But the fact still stands about that creature being a threat. If we're not careful then it'll be the death of us all. I'm doing what's right."

Ruby: "You won't keep it locked away forever."

She tosses his scroll onto the table walking away. But not before insulting him.

Ruby: "Just so you know. That Grimm you're calling a threat will always be more of a man than you'll ever be."

Ironwood remains unfazed by her insult.

Ironwood: "You'll learn to thank me."

Ruby simply leaves.

*timeskip* 

As Y/N sleeps he's blasted awake by an explosion. Another one blows up near him sending him into the wall. Having being freed of his chains he morphs into a Griffon flying towards the source of the mayhem. Getting there he sees Cinder just standing on Beacon Tower. Y/N lands in his human form making Cinder smile.

Cinder: "So the amazing hybrid has appeared. I was wondering when you would. Care to do me a favor and come with me?"

Y/N: "No."

Cinder: "I've tried peace. Time to use force."

In a flash she fires an arrow at Y/N. He rolls forward while morphing into a Borbatusk. When he gets closer he tucks into a ball slamming into Cinder's chest. The impact knocks her back and off of Beacon Tower. 

Not giving up she uses her Fall Maiden power to fly back to Y/N. Landing she sends out a massive volley of arrows. Y/N tucks again rolling to the side. Dodging the arrows Y/N switches to a Lancer. He fires his harpoon which narrowly misses Cinder. 

But as she dodges he quickly transforms to an Alpha Beowolf. Before the harpoon can fully disappear he grabs the line snapping it around Cinder's waist. He then slings her over his shoulder onto the ground. 

Y/N doesn't give her time to breathe. He pins her down and claws at her chest. Cut after cut her chest to torn to pieces. Screaming in anger she delivers a flaming uppercut. Y/N's sent flying before crashing back onto the ground stunned. Cinder gets to her feet grabbing Y/N's foot.

Cinder: "All you had to do was just come with me. It didn't have to be like this. Oh well, I have you now."

She begins dragging him away. But at that moment Ruby fires herself on top of Beacon Tower. Her eyes fall on Y/N which fills her with anger.

Ruby: "Let him go!!!!"

Her silver eyes shine bombarding Cinder with light. She screams in pain as her body starts taking damage. When she falls Y/N is hit with the same light. Now he screams in pain as burn marks begin forming. In order to save itself his body morphs him back to his human state. Ruby's eye shine ceases subduing the light. She then runs to Y/N's side and escorts him to safety.

Ruby: "Don't worry Y/N, you're gonna be okay."

She carries him to the evacuation airship completely unaware of the burns hiding just under his clothing. Burns that she caused.
