3rd POV

The Monday after the dance every first year student heads to the auditorium. After getting blasted by a speech from Ozpin they head for the mission boards. Team RWBY plus Y/N select one then head to the airships. But that's when they're met with Oobleck.

Ruby: "Oobleck?"

Oobleck: "Yes I shall be your Huntsman. Your bags won't be necessary since we'll basically be on a reconnaissance mission. We also won't be setting up a base but will make use of any acceptable location we find. I've packed all essentials and plotted the course. Now come along, we're already behind schedule."

He zips to the airship. After joining him and a brief ride they arrive at the mountain city of Glenn. As they look around Oobleck yells at Ruby.

Oobleck: "I thought I said to leave all bags at school."

Ruby: "You did... but you also hadn't said to listen to you yet. So... I didn't."

Oobleck: "Touché. Very well leave your bag here so that we may recollect it upon our return."

Ruby: "But..."

Oobleck: "Miss Rose what's in that bag that-"

He's cut off by Zwei popping his head out.

Oobleck: "Our job is to investigate miles of dangerous land and you brought a dog?"

Ruby: "I..."

Oobleck: "Brilliant! Dogs have exceptional senses of hearing and smell. Meaning they're perfect for jobs such as ours."

Ruby: "That's me, ms. brilliant."

They all roll their eyes as a small pack of Beowolves makes themselves known. They snarl as the heroes withdraw their weapons. But unknownst to them Y/N remembered something. Recalling his incident with Cardin he makes himself angry. His eyes lightly shine. This makes the Beowolves cease all movement. They then just walk away leaving the heroes confused.

Ruby: "That was weird."

Yang: "Yeah, I've never known Grimm to retreat."

Oobleck: "Best not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Let's just get back on track with the mission."

They nod going back to searching. As they do Y/N uses his ability to keep the Grimm away. Towards the night Y/N takes watch when Zwei comes into view barking. 

Oobleck: "Get your things. I fear Ruby may be in need of help."

Without thinking Y/N runs away towards Ruby's scent. Jumping down a hole and running down a tunnel he has Ruby run to him.

Y/N: "You... okay?"

Ruby: "Yeah. But hey, Roman's got the train loaded with all sorts of weapons. We need to stop him."

The train begins pulling away as Y/N and now the others hop aboard. 

Oobleck: "We need to stop this train."

Weiss: "What's this?"

They look down.

Oobleck: "That... would be a bomb."

Ruby: "Incoming trouble."

Looking they see White Fang members coming their way. The bomb then begins beeping.

Oobleck: "Time we left. Cut the caboose Blake."

She hops down to do so. But it detaches itself before pulling away and blowing up. This allows Griffons to fly through the created hole. The heroes set to work on taking out the ones that get too close. But this keeps them from stopping the train which plows straight through the center of Vale.

Y/N picks himself up rubbing his throbbing head. Shaking his head he finally spots the damage being done. Growling he morphs into a Deathstalker then roars as loud as he can. All the Grimm in the area focus on him. 

Then at blinding speeds they close in towards him. As fast as he can he tucks into a ball as a Ursa Major. He then sends out his spikes puncturing the attacking Grimm. Unfolding he receives a downward slash from an Ursa. 

After a shout of pain he claws it in half. But as it bursts to dust an Alpha Beowolf sends out its claws. Y/N leans back then bites off the Alpha's head. Still not letting up a King Taijitu's white head lunges for him. 

Acting quick he switches into a Nevermore taking to the skies. He then turns into a tucked Borbatusk. He slams onto the white head driving a hole through it. As he unfolds a Nevermore swoops him up with its talons.

Growing annoyed he switches to a King Taijitu dragging the Nevermore down. Now grounded he wraps his body around the Nevermore and squeezes until it pops like a grape. With it dead he morphs back into his human form. He then spots Ruby covered in Grimm blood.

Robot: "Grimm detected. Initiating termination."

All the surrounding robots aim their guns at Ruby.

Y/N: "Ruby!!!!"
