3rd POV

We enter the combat class to see Jaune fighting Cardin. Jaune brings down his sword only for Cardin to block his attack. He then swings his mace knocking Jaune to the floor robbing him of his shield. Jaune gets back on his feet and once again brings his sword down. Cardin however holds out his mace blocking Jaune before pushing him to his knee.

Cardin: "This is where you lose."

Jaune: "Not on my-"

Cardin slams his knee into Jaune's stomach taking him to the floor. He then raises his mace but is stopped by Glynda.

Glynda: "That's enough. As you can all see Jaune's aura is now in the red. This would mean that he's incapable of going on and the official would intervene."

She looks at Jaune.

Glynda: "It's been several weeks and you still haven't shown any improvement. Try to gauge your aura level when fighting. When it gets low it'll be best to decide when to attack and when to defend. We wouldn't want anything to happen to you would we?"

Cardin: "I would."

Y/N growls at his remark.

Glynda: "Remember that the tournament is just around the corner. If you wish to compete then be sure to keep up with your training."

The bell rings dismissing them to lunch. After gathering his plate Y/N sits by himself munching on slabs of meat while growling. He's then tapped on the shoulder by Ruby.

Ruby: "Mind some company?"

Y/N: "N-n-no."

She smiles as her, her team and her friends join him. 

Ruby: "So what've been up to?"

Y/N: "L-learning."

Yang: "What've you been learning?"

Y/N: "Talk better."

Nora: "Were you raised in a barn?"

Ren: "Nora."

Nora: "Sorry."

Y/N uses his utensils to cut his meat but it quickly angers him as it doesn't work.

Weiss: "You're holding them wrong."

Ruby: "Here."

She grabs his knife flipping it around. 

Ruby: "Now try."

He tries again this time effortlessly cutting his meat. Later that day Y/N sits down in a chair looking at a children's book. Ruby sits next to him watching him read.

Y/N: "T-Tim t-t-treed,"

Ruby: "Tried."

Y/N: "Tried to r-r-ride his b-b-beak."

Ruby: "Bike."

Y/N: "Bike. D-d-down the s-s-st-st-stre,"

Ruby: "Street."

Y/N: "Street. Time tried to ride his bike down the street."

Ruby: "That's good Y/N. You're learning."

Y/N smiles seeing his progress.

Ruby: "You're progressing really well. Pretty soon you'll be ready to read at an advanced level."

Y/N: "Feels... nice... to... read."

Ruby: "Remember to just keep practicing."

Y/N: "Will... do."

A few days later we enter Oobleck's class. 

Oobleck: "Yes this is all commonly known as the Faunus War. While this might feel like long ago history it's important to know this' all actually recent. Why the outcome of which is still felt to this day. Now who can tell me the turning point of the war?"

Weiss: "The battle of Jacinto Mountain."

Oobleck: "Correct. And what was the advantage the Faunus had over the General?"

Jaune gets flicked in the back of the head by a paper football.

Jaune: "Hey."

Oobleck: "Thanks for contribution. What's the answer?"

Jaune: "Uh sight?"

Oobleck: "Close. Cardin?"

Cardin: "It's less trouble to train an animal."

Y/N growls tossing a chair at Cardin.

Oobleck: "Y/N, please refrain from using violence in the classroom."

Cardin: "You asshole!"

Ruby: "You're one to talk."

Cardin: "Shut up runt."

Y/N tosses another chair at him.

Oobleck: "Y/N, I mean it."

Some time later we see Y/N walking back into the academy. For the past few weeks he would routinely sneak into the Emerald Forest to hunt. As he transforms back to normal he walks into the dorms. But he's soon cut off by Cardin.

Cardin: "Out late aren't you?"

Y/N: *growls*

Cardin: "You know Ozpin won't be too happy about this. Especially when he finds out about this."

He pulls out his scroll showing a video of Y/N morphing from his Grimm state.

Cardin: "To think we had a nasty Grimm problem right in this very school. Wonder would happen if this little video was leaked."

Y/N snarls.

Cardin: "I won't release it. Only if you agree to my deal. Simply be at my beck and call and this video stays on my scroll. Do we have a deal?"

Y/N growls. He wants nothing more than to rip Cardin apart. But if he does then Cardin will release the video. Seeing his hands tied he kneels submitting to Cardin.

Cardin: "Good Grimm. Keep that up and we'll be the best of friends. Who am I kidding? You'll always be my pet."

He walks away laughing. Meanwhile Y/N's wrath filled gaze stays on Cardin as he thinks. When the time's right he'll tear Cardin off his pedistal.
