"Shuyang! Stop!" Hanyu shouted, grabbing onto the younger's wrist as he began to fall over the edge.
"Let go!" Shuyang seethed.
"Is it really that bad? Okay I get it he's gone... but life goes on." Hanyu grappled, tugging on the man's arm and pulling him further away from the crust of the Back Cavern. He had chased the long-haired boy into the grounds after dropping the sex-mobile back off at the apartment. Zihao stood unmoving just a few yards away. He just watched, like he had always done.
"What are you talking about?" Shuyang scoffed, ripping his limb from Hanyu's firm grasp.
"What do you mean what am I taking about? You were literally about to jump into the cavern!"
Shuyang groaned loudly and rolled his eyes.
"Idiot! Have you forgotten?" Shuyang threw his jacket to the ground in an angry whirl and spread his arms out wide, falling backwards. No one was behind him yet he was caught by an invisible force.
"I can't fucking fall!"
Hanyu's breath had been caught in his throat. How could he forget? He thought the supernatural event would never leave his head.
ZeYu hears it.
Xinlong sees it.
Shuyang's protected by it."It loves me Hanyu! Anything I do, it keeps me in a little bubble!" He shouts angrily again, not at all satisfied with what was happening. He would've much rather he died the first time Xinlong pushed him in not a week ago. Then he'd have been spared all of this emotionally confusion bullshit. The male felt everything loosen itself, his brain twisting in an agonizing symphony of each and every painful experience to be had. He felt unhinged, losing his mind, out of control.
"Why then? Why jump into to the cavern?" Hanyu spoke through harsh breathes.
"I- just know! I just know okay! I sound fucking insane! But I know!" Shuyang shouted, hands ripping at his ponytail and eyes wide, exposing how inwardly he had been tortured.
"Everyone is telling me that he's not here but I swear to fucking hell he is! He's playing tricks on me or something I fucking swear! He's next to me when I go to bed and he's singing when I'm in the shower! I can't run from it so I have to find him! What did I do? What did I do? I swear I didn't do anything!" The youngest argued with himself nails dinging deep into the flesh around his scalp, blood pooling and making its way through his finger tips.
"Shuyang." Hanyu said softly, a sense of fear pumping through him, but also the feeling of needing to protect Shuyang from himself. He never thought he'd see the youngest breakdown.
Tears flooded from Shuyang's eyes, though he had no clue they were even there.
Streams of red flowed into his line of vision.
"What's happening?" He whispered, looking up at Hanyu.
"Shuyang, it's okay. Just stay still." Hanyu breathed carefully.
"What's going on?" ZeYu asked as soon as him and Xinlong arrived, standing next to Zihao and observing the scene.
"I don't know." Zihao admitted truthfully, not knowing a damn thing about this.
ZeYu looked at Shuyang, blood and tears dripping from his face. He walked slowly beside Hanyu, hoping maybe he could help.
"Yang-" ZeYu said lightly, drawing the panicked boy's attention.
"Come here." He said softly.
Shuyang shook his head.
"It's all my fault. I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He repeated.
"Shuyang freaking out was the reason the grounds told us to get over here?" Xinlong blundered, still amazed that the grounds knew just about everything.
It was just then. Xinlong's eyes widened as he searched around him, for the first time actually looking for the horrible figure that followed him.
"You." He said aloud, the grounds smiling up at him creepily. He shuttered.
"You know about GouGou, don't you?" He accused, sticking a finger at the figure.
The grounds simply nodded, pushing Xinlong's accusing finger down. "Well is he dead?" Xinlong questioned, waiting with baited breath as the figure took its sweet time.
Slowly, the grimy humanoid type creature took on a softer face, sweeter smile and a s head of fluffy black hair. Xinlong's breath stopped in that moment. He never realized how much he really missed GouGou until he saw his likeness in front of him like this.
"Are you dead?" He asked again, feeling as if he were really talking to Rui.
The imposter smiled gently, bringing back each and every memory Xinlong had of the boy.
"I am not." He whispered to next to Xinlong's ear, being the only time he could hear the figure.
"Oh my gosh-" he struggled, watching the young man smile brightly.
"Where are you? Are you okay? What happened?" He bombarded GouGou with all of his questions, hands tight on his shoulders. Zihao watched dumbfounded at the scene he had playing in front of him.
Two psychopaths living the dream.
"I don't know." Rui whispered. "I don't know any of that. Im asleep." He said, hand covering his mouth. "Asleep?" Xinlong repeated, also covering his mouth as to gesture his attention.
Rui nodded."Where are you going?" Xinlong asked as Rui began to walk away, his gaze fixed on his boyfriend.
"I'm okay. I love you." ZeYu said aloud, as the words popped into his head. "What?" Hanyu scoffed. "He said he's okay and he loves you." ZeYu explained, though even he was confused.
"Who loves me? Who's okay?" Shuyang sniffed, looking up at ZeYu, but he only shrugged.
"GouGou." Xinlong shouted. "GouGou loves you. He's okay."
