This is just kind of a filler chapter while I work out some other plot details. Enjoy the fluff tho!!!❤️❤️
There he stood once again at the edge of the back cavern's jagged mouth.
Turning on his heels, Shuyang walked evenly towards the barbed wire fence that lined the late Mr. Yi's property and casually jumped it when it became an obstacle. He shook his head as all of the events played over and over and over in his head like a black and white movie on a reel. Shuyang felt like he had betrayed himself in a way. There was no real chance he'd ever bring his beloved MingRui back to that earthly pocket of Hell, but even the fact that he had let that slip past his lips made him cringe. "Is that where he was?" He thought to himself. He could've bear to think about Rui sitting next to Mr. Zenan as an eternal game of chess lounged between the two.
Shuyang shoved his hands into his pockets and ingnored how his fingers bent in unnatural ways just to fit. "My poor baby." He hummed tearfully.
"ZeYu said the grounds was leading him to the back cavern when he got here. I was even right next to hi." Shuyang thought out loud as he relived each moment.
"How did these bastards manage to keep this whole thing a secret for so long?" He huffed again.

"He's back!" Rui tumbled off of the sofa and placed himself in front of the door, arms tensed at his sides as he waited for Shuyang to come through the door. He felt his nerves tingle at each end while watching his boyfriend slam the truck door shut and walk up the driveway.
MingRui bounced on the balls of his feet nervously. He was sure he'd be a nervous wreck of Shuyang didn't hurry up and walk a little faster. In reality it had been less than a minute but Rui felt like he had been standing there for hours.
Dela watched the younger in all of his nervous excitement, smiling sadly at the scene.
Finally, Shuyang opened the door and was greeted with Rui's arms being thrown around his shoulders and hugging him close. Shuyang didn't waist a second, closing the door behind him and wrapping his arms around GouGou's waist.
Safe at last.
"Where were you?" Rui asked softly as he felt Shuyang press his nose into his shoulder. "Not now GouGou, just hold me." Shuyang's voice was worn thin and carried a heavy burden of exhaustion and hurt. "O-okay." Rui hummed as Shuyang sunk deeper into his embrace and pressed his weight into Rui's front.
"You better get him to bed." Dela suggested, standing up from her chair and setting her knitting aside.
"Yeah." Rui agreed, gripping Shuyang's arm and pulling him towards the spare bedroom where they had been staying.
Once they were tucked away in their own corner of the house, Shuyang shimmied out of his uncomfortably sweaty t-shirt and jeans. Rui picked up the articles of clothing and folded them neatly before placing them in the laundry hamper.
"Do you want some pajam-" Shuyang didn't let the older finish as he pulled the man in for a kiss, one hand cupping his plump cheek and the other pressed firmly to the small of Rui's back, pulling his body close.
"No, just you." He said lazily as he tugged Rui towards the sizable bed and snuggled under the blanket with him. "You want me?" Rui asked quietly as he pulled the hem of his shirt over his head, afterwards. running a hand through Shuyang's hair. "Just want to hold you." He explained. "Oh." Rui smiled and brought himself closer, cradling Shuyang's head against his chest and pressing a warm kiss to his hair.
"I promise you it will be okay." Shuyang said quietly."I trust you." Rui said back, holding the younger even tighter.
