Chapter 19
I shifted my weight a bit, mmm the grass is warm and comfy... wait a minute the ground isn't comfy! I let my eyes flicker open, yep I'm definitely not in the graveyard. I must of fell asleep at the grave cause the next thing I know is I'm in the back seat of a nice warm car with soft music playing in the back ground. I serge of panic raises in me, who's car am I in? Omg I've been kidnapped.
"Oh you're awake" wait I know that voice. I lift my head up to see Jake sitting in the driver's seat. "Are you okay?" he asks in a calm voice. I just nodded my head; I know this is the calm before the storm. "You know I really wish you would tell me where you are, it's dangerous out here and sleeping in a graveyard?! What is the matter with you Marie?!" and there's the storm.
"I didn't mean to! I didn't just wake up and think 'Hey, sleeping in my room is getting boring so I think I'll try sleep outside'!" this time I started to raise my voice, did he seriously think I was that dumb. I know as soon as I started tired I should have gone home, but I didn't want to leave him yet.
"Well I don't know do I? You have had us all worried sick about you!"
"Well sorry okay?" I pull myself in to sitting position, it was really dark outside. I noticed we weren't going the right direction back to my house
"Where are we going?" my voice filled with uncertainty
"Back to mine, there a storm approaching and my house is closer"
"Why can't you just drop me home?"
"Well I don't want to drive in the storm, unless you want me to?" he quickly glanced back at me before his eyes returned to the road
"N-no of course not"
"Well good cause I was still going to bring you back to mine anyway" I couldn't see his face but I knew he was smirking.
I gaped out of the window; I haven't been this side of town before. There weren't many buildings and the houses were really scared apart and small. It look more calm and relaxed out here, the area was surrounded by trees and large fields.
"Put your belt on" His voice broke though my trance
"What?"
"You know that black long thing with the silver end by your head? Put it on" he spoke slow as if he was talking to a child
"No need to be rude about it" I scoffed pulling it round me and clipping it in.
"Well if you listened to me once in a while I wouldn't have to now would I?" I knew that it was a rhetorical question but I couldn't help but answer
"Who do you think you are my mom?" I shot back
"No cause if I were, I wouldn't be here right now driving and you would still be asleep in the cold graveyard with some man lurking over you"
"Oh so we are back to this again? I WAS FINE!" I honestly don't know where this confidence came from but I was getting annoyed, did they think I wasn't capable of taking care of myself.
"Listen here Marie, you didn't tell anyone where you were nor did you answer your phone. I went to your house to find your sister basically in hysteric's while her chap is trying to calm her down. I tell her that I'm going out to find you. I wonder round town, thinking the worse. Do you not remember what happened a few days ago huh?" He didn't give me time to reply before he starting again.
"So then I decided to drive a bit further out, and a fucking good job that I did. I drive past the graveyard to find a girl lying beside a grave fast asleep. At first I didn't know it was you but still went to find out. But there you were sleeping in the bitter cold on the damp grass. Anything could have happened to you Marie, so don't you dare tell me you were fine!" I knew he was angry; his eyes flickered into the rear view mirror they were hard and cold, they even looked darker and hooded.
