Chapter 29
I let out a groan as I felt my shoulders being shaken; I tried to pull the covers over my head but there was something heavy stopping me.
“Come on sleeping beauty, wakey wakey” An amused voice chuckled.
“5 more minutes” I groaned nuzzling more into my pillow before I knew my head bounced off my mattress as my puffy pillow was swiped from under me. “Ouch” I moaned only to have someone laugh at me.
“Well you should get up when I ask” I opened my eyes, having to blink a couple of times to get used to the light to see a grinning Jake straddling me.
“Whatever” I mumbled but I couldn’t fight the grin which spread across my face. Jake was about to say something but Melissa’s voice carried throughout the house.
“IT’S CHRISTMAS!” She sung loudly while entering my room, she cocked her eyebrow looking at the scene in front of her. “Well you to look busy” she smirked, hands wrapped around her body and there stood Noah.
“What is this, a family reunion?” Sarcasm seeping into my voice making everyone chuckle.
“Come on its 8:00am and I’m waiting for my presents” Melissa smirked before turning on her heel back down stairs with Noah on her tail.
“Come on babe” Jake removed himself from the bed, holding out his hand for me to take. I placed my hand in his and straight away he tightened his hold.
“You head on downstairs with the others, I’m just going get washed” Jake gave me a soft kiss on the lips before leaving me to it.
Yesterday was pretty much uneventful; we just carried on like normal though Kyle did pop into my mind once or twice. I still can’t believe that the lad who helped to make my life a living hell at school is actually related to me. Me and Jake spent most of the day just lying on the sofa while Melissa worked around us doing housework. Noah had gone to ‘work’ well chasing people down on payments. Melissa that morning had spoke to me and I decided to speak to her just as it was Christmas.
I made my way across the landing to do what I had to do, there was no point getting changed on Christmas seeing as we never went anywhere.
Once I had finished I made my way back downstairs. Melissa had set each of our presents in separate piles. Noah had sat with on the chair in the left hand corner, Jake was sat on the big sofa and well Melissa was just pottering about.
“Oh finally!” She exclaimed, before pointing to the pile of present on the vacant space next to Jake. “There yours” She squeaked. I made my way round to the grant pile of neatly wrapped presents all of them had a red ribbon wrapped round.
“I guess mom and dad felt guilty about leaving us” I mumbled still taking in the ridiculous amount of presents.
“There’s some in there from me and Noah as well” She grinned finally taking a seat on the arm of the chair that Noah occupied
“And me” Jake Added.
“Well let’s start then” I said grabbing the first present.
About 30 presents later from my parents I had finally unwrapped the last one. There was a stupid amount, don’t get me wrong I’m thankful for all this stuff but I didn’t need half of it. I had only asked for a red pair of converse but ended up with a lot more, they had gotten me some clothes and two new pairs on converse, an iPod, laptop, iPad and a new phone. There were many little bits and bobs but it wasn’t necessary to get me all this.
“Okay now that one is from me and Noah” Melissa pointed to a large blue wrapped box, I pulled the paper from it for reveal a large pink box. I swiftly opened the box to fix it full of all my favourite box sets.
