(Genshin impact) scaramouche headcanon's

⚠️spoilers for his backstory, insecure and having unhealthy coping mechanism, Scaramouche is a red flag but you can tell he's scared and trying his best⚠️

He doesn't know the bridge between vulnerability (he hates the idea of being vulnerable) and companionship so being friends with him, especially if you met him in the fatui, is going to be a long journey and you have to be very determined and patient.

I don't think he's as much of a dick as fanfics make him out to be, or that could just be me simping and wanting someone to love me. But I believe that his mean side is partly a facade he puts on for the soldiers in order to make him think he's in charge (both for his fears and doubts and also because it's the fatui and he believes that's the only way to keep on the top)

So if he trust you enough and it's just the two of you he's alot different although you can see how his mean facade has seeped into his actual personality now and again.

It's kind of like rolling a dice with Scaramouche. One minute he's teasing and laughing with you because it was just the two of you but then a few hours of stress later he hurt you and then in a few minutes he bandages the wound he caused but couldn't mutter a apology because of his ego

Back when he was kunikuzushi it would of been more easier to be friends with him and back then he was different to how he is now but you can see a few similarities

He was still as teasing and joking as he is as Scaramouche but you can see that he doesn't understand simple things, like human determination, emotions, how someone can do things simply because it's fun. Stuff like that and he probably looks to you to help him understand those things and followed you like a lost puppy.

In order to stay with Scaramouche you have to have some metal skin. It's common (especially around people and he's angry) he threatens to hurt you if you don't come to him now or he degrades you as you play the roll of puppy to inflate his ego.

You also have to notice the little things in order to know that Scaramouche cares about you. He prefers to do acts of service but (usually) without you seeing it or you even realising he did it at all, its his odd way of showing affection.

Another form of affection he has is giving gifts, he's rich so he buy you a few things but he prefers things that are special and now just flowers he bought for 3.99. Sometimes it isn't that big and he's just pay for the dinner at the restaurant he decided to take you because you were both on break (partly the reason why he took you to dinner).

Although sometimes the giving gifts can sometimes be because of his insecurity that you don't actually like him and you're just pretending like the other soldiers do and that he makes you unhappy.

Enough of the toxicity of Scaramouche let's go onto some good things.

When it's just you two he gets a kick out of teasing you especially if it ends up with you flustered and hiding your red face. Something like biting your ear lobe or whispered in your ear as he hugs your waist from behind. And that's been a trait he's had since he was kunikuzushi

One little secret that can get Scaramouche to fall for you fast is compliments that feed his ego. He doesn't get complimented at all so it's no wonder.

So he secretly fishes for your compliments and does impressive things. If what he does doesn't make you compliment him he'll be grumpy throughout the day but not say why.

On your birthday he makes you breakfast in bed but refuses to admit that he's the one that made the breakfast. Despite that he asks if the breakfast is any good.
