Zayn apparently doesn't know how to feel. He tries to sleep, but he can just smell Liam in air because he came to get Louis. And when Zayn looks out of his window, he sees Louis and Liam heading into the woods alone, already whispering to each other.

Liam's leaving soon. Not sure when, but soon. 

Zayn doesn't know how to feel about that. He doesn't want him to leave, but he has no right to say that.

Liam is not even part of the pack. He should mean nothing, but Zayn can't bring himself to look at Liam's like he's nothing. How he got to that mindset is beyond him. So he lies there in silence, staring at the ceiling and tries not to think about Louis and Liam nor the abandoned white rose.

But he fails, of course.

Coco is trying to distract him by cuddling into him, biting his fingers, pouting at him. But Zayn just-he's not feeling up to it. He is not able to handle the thought of Liam leaving with Louis and leading a happy life with him. He's not able to digest the fact that Liam has someone for him already.

He shouldn't have listened to Niall. He shouldn't have given the rose to Liam.

But it's happened anyways. And Zayn can't undo it now.

He hears footsteps thunder upstairs and then feels Niall's scent enter the room. "Zayn?"

"What?" It's not Niall's fault when he was just trying to help, so Zayn tries not to take this out on him.

"I just saw Louis Tomlinson"

Ughh. "Please go away"

"Zed, hey" Niall crawls into the bed, trying to catch Zayn's eyes "What's wrong?"

"Oh, many things" Zayn says and starts listing out "My crush on Liam. The fact that I gave a rose to him last night. And his boyfriend nearly seeing-"

It doesn't hit Zayn until now that Liam might have dropped it so that Louis doesn't see it. And it only makes all of it worse.

"Boyfriend?" Niall repeats, blinking "Louis is his boyfriend? Who told you that?"

"I don't know but it seems like it-"

Niall slaps his arm "Stop jumping into conclusions when you don't know the whole thing. This guy is his best friend"

"Yeah, there are also chances that that kind of feelings can be involved"

"Stop being pessimistic" Niall scolds and sighs "So, what did Liam say about the rose?"

"He forgot all about it. He dropped it as soon as he had Louis in his arms"

"Ouch" Niall winces.

"So, please stop talking about him" Zayn requests "And leave me alone"

"No"

"Why not?"

"Because I want to be there for you" Niall lies down beside him and tugs at his arm to get him closer "I want to be here to remind you that it's fine, it's okay. Just because he doesn't return your feelings or leaving you does not mean it's end of the world. Every thing's gonna be alright"

Zayn finally meets Niall's eyes and the latter gives him a compassionate smile. "It will be yes? He'll leave and I'll get over him right?"

"Yeah, probably" Niall nods and pats his chest "Come on, you too Coco"
