"It'll be fine" Louis insists as he tugs Liam along. Liam has vague flashbacks of this mansion, but he tries not to think too much about it right now, considering the major issue in hand.
They are making their way into the Tomlinson mansion in their territory. It's still a wonder to Liam that he's free out here, with no one to guard him or punish him if he misbehaves or, well, does anything literally. Anything he does seems to bring him pain and suffering, so he stopped trying to figure what he did wrong a long time ago.
And he's not having a very good feeling about this. The situation is still pretty tense; it's been just two days since his escape. He must be on top of the hotlist to be searched in every pack and they would never accept Liam when they know they'll pay for it.
Louis refuses to understand this. Liam gets Louis loves him and wants to protect him, but this will not work out. And he does not want to be a problem to the Tomlinson pack either. He will gladly remain dead to them than be the reason for their death.
"I don't think so" Liam tries to stop Louis "Louis, no, please don't do this"
Louis huffs out impatiently. "They are my family, Li. They will love you too"
"Not this me" Liam shakes his head "They'll hate me for sure. Louis, we can still go back"
"No, we are not going to" Louis says firmly and literally drags Liam into the living room. Only thing is, his family is not present there, instead the important members of the pack and his dad are having important discussion going on. Liam already gets a bad feeling when their eyes zero in on Liam and harden.
Louis' mother, Jay, is standing by the entrance, which Liam notices. Looking at her brings back so many warm memories, but they are too painful to think about right now. So Liam looks away before it pains him even further.
"Well" Louis looks startled at the unexpected audience "Afternoon everyone"
He gets nods and mutters as greeting, their eyes still fixed on Liam.
"Um" Louis glances at Liam and back at his dad "Dad, I'm pretty sure you remember Liam, right? My childhood best friend?"
"Yes" His father nods emotionlessly.
"Looks like he's not dead after all" Louis tries to joke under the tense glares "He's alive and well, I brought him here"
"It was not a very smart decision"
Liam knows that.
"Yeah, you are not even surprised that he's alive" Louis shakes his head, looking bewildered. "Dad, he doesn't have anywhere else to go and frankly, I'm the reason he's here now"
"You shouldn't have gotten involved in this, Louis" His father tells him "This is not our business"
Why is Liam not surprised? Because he's used to being cast out and abandoned once he's being used. Louis didn't use him is the difference.
"Dad" Louis starts "Liam is staying here, at least until everything goes back to normal"
"It won't" one of the pack members says "Deaton's men have already warned us on this. We have to make sure this doesn't end up as our problem"
How fast they are. Why is Liam even surprised? Deaton would want to pay back for what Liam did after all. He's not used to be defeated by an omega before now, is he? Nor get fooled by one.
