"So, you're saying that there isn't a hole in the wall? Then where the hell did those titans come from?" I asked, standing with my arms crossed on top of the Eastern side of wall Rose.

Hannes sighed, "We searched the entire thing, and found nothing. If there is a breach, it's not in the wall."

I knew that something wasn't right. The last time we had to deal with a breach, it was so much more chaotic than what we dealt with yesterday. Granted, we are a lot more prepared now than we were five years ago, but still.

"Hmm," Hange mused, "I guess if there is no breach, we have to change our tactic. We head back to Trost immediately."

I nodded firmly at her, and she motioned with her head to talk to me off to the side. I gave her a look, and Severin and I followed her off to the side, out of ear shot from anyone.

She glanced around to see if anyone was listening, before speaking. "I know that you have a thing against Reiner because of what he did, but other than that, what sort of vibes do you get from him?" she asked quietly, still scanning the area with her eyes.

My gaze met Severin's for a moment. I thought I was the only one who felt that something was off about him, but maybe not. That's the reason why Hange is asking, right? "I don't trust him. From the beginning, even before the... incident," I paused, glancing over at where he was standing, "He has always given me an uneasy feeling. I was just telling Severin that something is off about him."

She nodded, placing a hand on her chin in thought. She looked around once more before continuing. "We got a tip that Reiner and Bertholdt supposedly came from the same town as Annie, but there are no records of any of them prior to the fall of wall Maria 5 years ago. We need to investigate further, so for now, we just want to keep everything calm while we figure out what this means."

I swallowed hard; I knew what this could mean. If they were close with Annie, there is a possibility that they could also be titan spies that are against us and after Eren.

Severin cleared his throat, "Alright, well, we were already planning on talking to the Commander about him when we got back anyways."

Hange opened her mouth to say something, but I cut in first. "If there are suspicions, we need to keep Eren away from them. Just as a precaution. Then, if it turns out to be nothing, then no worries. But we can't risk them having access to Eren."

Her eyes widened slightly as she processed what I was saying. "Yes, you're right. I should have thought about that," she sighed, "Take Eren with you guys and go rendezvous with the rest of your squad. If there has been no other activity since you left, bring them all back home, and we'll go from there."

"Understood," I nodded to her, and immediately turned in the direction of where I knew Eren was, over by Reiner and Bertholdt.

Reiner had just started to approach Eren when I called out to him. "Eren!"

They stopped, looking over at me. I kept my face neutral, my voice even and steady.

"Yes Captain?" Eren called back.

"You're with us. Let's get going, now," I ordered firmly, my voice telling him that it was not an option.

His face showed his confusion, but he obeyed, jogging over to where Severin and I were standing. Once he got to us, I motioned for him to continue on with Severin. I stared down the two cadet boys for a moment, before turning and following Eren and Severin.
