"Nope. After dinner, we will have Abbs come with us and officially welcome you into the pack as well. Then you will be able to mindlink everybody too." I smile, wanting another kiss I lean up and get one.
Right when I touch the handle on my door Abbs links me.
Adira, heads up! Your parents are here. Andrew and Adam have been keeping them busy in the dining hall. Your dad wanted to come after you immediately, when they got in the house. Abbs rushes out.
Uh oh! I didn't think Dad would get so worked up they would come back home.
"What's wrong?" Fredrick's voice snaps me out of my small panic state.
"Crap! Uhh... My parents are here. They know about you and the history behind you first coming here. Mom was happy we are mates, but Dad." I can't even finish it.
If my Dad gets mad enough about all of this, I may not have a mate. My dad could very easily kill Fredrick, just because of the actions he wanted to do at first. Fredrick was honest with us though and he didn't have to come clean but he did and he has truly changed. Storm and I both saw it with our own eyes, it's not some trick because no one can hide auras and change them without meaning it.
Are you coming down or going to keep hiding Adira Sage Elliot? Dad's voice rings through my head.
Dang it, he always knew when I was hiding or putting off on something.
I love your brothers, but I know they are also stalling for you. Bring your mate with you and dressed, preferrable. Dad loves to taunt and tease. Where do you think I learned it from?
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I open the door. Keeping my hand in Fredrick's we walk down the stairs.
The only fear I have in my entire life is Dad.
"You're gonna be fine darling." Fredrick leans down to whisper in my ear.
I can barely give him a smile, just as the dining room door is opened. There standing tall and staring at us is none other than my Dad.
"Tyler Elliot! Leave our daughter alone, for crying out loud! Let them in. I want to see my son-in-law." I hear Mom call out.
Dad lets a puff of air and turns, walking back over to the table where Mom is sitting at.
We walk in, still holding hands. Abbs starts smiling and bouncing in her seat, along with many others.
"Oh, he is a handsome one sweetheart." Mom stands up to hug me.
Fredrick let go of my hand, when Moms arms go around me. I hug Mom back, it is something I have missed with them traveling.
"Hi Mama." I smile warmly at her.
Dad moves in and give me one of those funny one sided hug.
Once the hugs are out of the way the four of us take our seats.
The food was already laid out on the table.
"This looks so good Melissa and Aunt Layla." I smile to them.
"More than likely worked up a hunger." Uncle Nathan snickers, earning a elbow to the ribs from Aunt Layla.
"So, Fredrick is it? What is your plans now that you mated with my daughter?" Dad goes in for the dig at Fredrick.
Fredrick rubs the back of his neck. "I am just willing to learn anything she teaches me."
"So, you don't want to take over the entire roll of Alpha? That way Adira can focus on the Luna side." Dad keeps going.
"Dad!" I stop myself before yelling.
"Yes?" Dad looks at me.
Alastair, Mom, and Uncle Nathan are all trying not to laugh.
"Must we do this here at the dinner table?" I try to calm myself down, but inside I am still nervous.
"Why not?" Dad shrugs.
Storm is even shaking some in the back of my mind. The excitement from mating with our mate has already faded due to the nerves of what will my Dad actually do.
"We could go out front and see how he fights. Or we can just simply talk?" Dad looks between Fredrick and I.
No one says a word, before Dad starts laughing.
"I am just messing with you on fighting, but you should have seen your face Fredrick." Dad chuckles.
"That is mean." I huff out.
"Not as mean as us being the last ones to know before the rest of the pack that you two are mates, Adira." Dad looks at me.
"I am not sure how to feel about it knowing who he is and the original plans, but everyone here has talked about his change. I trust you have also seen the change with aura's with Storm's help." Dad gets serious again.
"We did." I answer him.
"That is all the matters then." Dad nods his head.
"I will take care of your daughter and anything she needs me to do." Fredrick tells dad, honestly.
"That is all that can be asked of you then, right." Dad for once smiles at Fredrick, even if he still has a glint in his eyes.
Am I out of the dog house yet? Fredrick links me.
I give him a barely there shrug of my shoulders, because I have no earthly clue.
"What's it like sis, being mated?" Adam asks.
"Words can't describe it really. I feel complete and whole. Happy." I ponder over the words.
Mom smiles over at me and then snuggles up to Dad. I used to think it was gross seeing their affection, but now I understand it.
"After dinner, I was going to bring Fredrick into the pack completely. He was in on a trial bases only and now us being mated and him being true, he needs to be in the pack officially. Abbs would you help me with the little ritual?" I ask looking at her.
"Of course!" Abbs smiles.
"I will bring Fredrick into the pack." Dad chimes.
I look over at him and I know I am looking for the little trick he can do.
"I am serious sweetheart. Fredrick is your mate, as the previous Alpha, I will bring him into our pack." Dad smiles gently at us both.
Now, a warm feeling takes over my chest. Dad really is okay with us being mates.
Wait!
"You was playing us. Wasn't you? That is why Mom, Uncle Nathan, and Alastair was trying not to laugh." I say out loud, causing them all to laugh like crazy even Dad.
"I had to have some fun with you baby girl. Your my first born, and I will always love you. You're never to old for me to still get your behind though." Dad stands and pulls me into a hug.
