It has been three months since the fight happened. Each child that has been taken in has thrived. There is one young boy that was a little relunctant at first and gave some attitude, since then he has fit in beautifully.Chase is maturing more and more each day. His stutter is right at gone now, with the help of some speech therapy with one of the nurses within the pack. In the schooling part he has flown through and is almost up to the level he should have been at with his age.
Between Uncle Nathan, Abbs, and myself we have went through and finally sorted out the weapons they had used during the attack. Most of them is trash, due to the smell that seems to stick to them from the blood.
I am currently in the kitchen with Chase, Melissa, Mom, Abbs, Adam, and Aunt Layla. Sweet little Charlotte is at the counter coloring, while the rest of us are working on food for dinner.
I have finally let some of the Alpha duties transfer over to Fredrick, who is more than happy with. That paperwork can go out for the birds. A small laugh tries to escape me thinking back to that phrase, having said it in front of Fredrick who fell over laughing due to his wild form.
Arms wrap around my waist. "Why don't we go for some fresh air?" Fredrick whispers in my ear.
He has been overly affectionate lately. Then again it has been busy and we spend so much time making sure our pack is thriving.
"We got this, you two go get some air." Mom laughs.
I put the knife down and take Fredrick's hand, as we walk out the back door.
"So what are we going to do?" I ask him.
Fredrick smirks and removes his shirt. My eyes oogle his fine body, that is mine.
Excuse me! We share, I claim it just as much. Storm screams at me.
I let out a huff.
"I figure it is about time to take you for a ride." Fredrick smirks.
My mind goes straight down to the tented area in his pants, and I am all for it. Why drag me outside for that though?
"I meant in my wild form. Chase has been on many rides over the last three months, but you, my darling, have never been with me for a flight." Fredrick pulls my face up to meet his eyes, that are already swirling purple.
I take a few steps back for him to remove his pants and shift in a matter of a few seconds. I gather his clothes up and tie around his ankle the way he prefers, for if he lands anywhere else other than here.
Fredrick's wings come out and he stretches a little. He walks up to me and turns to the side, bending down some making it easier me. I find it sweet of him doing this, so I didn't have to jump as high up.
Climbing up on his back I see Chase at the back door, waving at us with a huge smile on his face.
I give Chase a wave back, just as Fredrick does a squawk and lifting off the ground.
Once I can see the ground is a good bit ways down and we are almost to the top of the trees, shaking tremors go through my body. I lean down and grip onto his body as tight as I can.
This is why I have never been on his back before for a flight. I am scared of heights.
Relax. Fredrick's voice floats through.
"Easy for you to say! I could fall off and then what? I will be ground pudding! This was a bad idea." I say out loud with my being close to his ear.
I won't let you fall, darling. Just relax and enjoy the view around. Don't look directly down at the ground. Fredrick softly talks through the link.
I can feel my hands relax, as I start to take in the view. It is so pretty from up here and not as scary as it was just looking straight down.
Now, I can see why Chase loves this so much. There is a sense of just being free up here. After getting over the fear of being off the ground, this is so much fun.
I see some of our guards running at the border line, in their wild form. They let out a howl and run to follow behind us, playing around. A smile breaks out on my face, seeing our members having some fun too.
Much to soon Fredrick had circled our pack land, making it back to the back field.
I go back down close to Fredrick's body again and hold on tight.
Fredrick lands, looking back at me like he is laughing at me. I slide off and just about fall on my behind from how shaky my legs are.
It takes me a few extra steps to his ankle, untying the clothes. Fredrick is quick to shift back and throw on his clothes.
Chase heard us as he was landing, because he is right at our side a second later. He is bouncing up and down.
"That was fun wasn't it Mama!" Chase exclaims.
"Yes it was." I say slowly, trying to smile. My stomach is starting to flip and twist.
"Darling, you're a little pale." Fredrick points out.
"I am okay." I take a slow breath in and out.
"That is because Mama is different." Chase laughs.
I tilt my head. "What do you mean, sweetie? I am the same I was yesterday."
"Well yeah, but you have been changing for a bit now." Chase answers, adding to my confusion more.
"What are you saying, buddy?" Fredrick laughs.
"Mama is different here. You can't feel that? It is the same as some of the others in the pack." Chase says moving over and motioning to my abdomen.
It hits me. Chase has spent time with the nurse over the last few months and she just had a little one. That is the only thing that would make sense on what he is trying to explain.
"You're saying I am pregnant." I state.
"If that is the word then yeah. The other lady that carries a baby around now, she felt the same. It just is like you are more than yourself and a small noise that's extra." Chase smiles.
"I think we need to go see Doc." Fredrick's eyes are wide, as a smile takes over his face.
I nod my head, as Fredrick wraps his arms around me.
"Come on buddy, let's go see if your going to be having a little sibling soon in the future." Fredrick smiles.
We all three walk toward the medical wing. I know we have been trying, but being busy I haven't paid attention to that part of things. At least, I have been skipping training and just instructing since the fight.
