I am amazed by Abat and Chase both. They asked questions and once Adira eased their worries, both are willing to learn. They want to embrace that side of them, instead of ignoring it.
It was on my mind all throughout dinner last night and barely slept. With Adira getting closer to term, I feel like I can't leave her side. Sure, I tease her just to get a glimpse of Storm but I can't help it I love the fiesty side of my mate.
Which is why I am now in a current panic, trying to dress as fast as possible after the coldest shower I've had in awhile. Waking up to an empty bed, has me cursing myself big time.
Letting the bond take over and lead me out the door and right down the hall. Adira is sitting at the desk, looking over papers that have been printed out.
"Was wondering when my loyal bird would show up. Sleeping hard earlier, wasn't sure if I would wake you trying to get out of bed or not." Adira laughs, not even looking up from the papers.
"Loyal bird." I grumble under my breath.
Adira jerks her head up and the wicked smile she is giving me tells me all the teasing I have done is coming back to haunt me.
"Well you're not a wolf so it is not like I can say pup." She laughs. Adira has always been fast with come backs and never batting a lash.
I move over and tickle her rib area lightly. The giggles she lets out, as she tries to fight my hands is worth it all. I stop, letting her catch her breath. Quickly spinning the chair around, I drop to my knees and kiss her bump. I am rewarded with a soft kick, I rub the area and kiss it again.
"Are you sure you want to be outside today training?" I ask her.
Adira narrows her eyes at me, and I gulp quickly.
"I am going outside and teaching our son what he rightfully deserves to know along with Abat. Just you try and stop me, I may be almost thirty-one weeks pregnant but I can still take you down." Adira tells me with a slight growl.
I put my hands up. "I only want whats best for you and the baby."
That seems to calm the fire that was rising in my mate, as she sighs.
"I am perfectly fine. Besides, fresh air is the best thing there is. If it makes you feel any better I will find a lawn chair and drag it out there to sit some back and forth." Adira huffs.
I give her a knowing smirk, because that is exactly what I will do in finding a chair.
Chase walks out of his room a moment later, smiling. I watch as he walks over and looks at me funny, since my hands are still in the air.
"Dad are you making Mama mad again?" Chase asks, trying not to laugh.
I thought I was protective of Adira, well Chase has me beat by a mega ton.
"He is just teasing like he always does, sweetie." Adira answers him, while I finally put my hands down.
"Are you ready to go out to the field?" Adira asks, looking at Chase.
Chase nods and holds his hands out to Adira, to help her up. I quickly slide over out of the way and stand on my feet.
Within a few seconds later, and a few grunts from Adira later, she is standing on her feet.
Chase has gotten remarkably stronger since he has been here, but then again he never misses out on daily training either. Many of the higher warriors and Abigail works with him, along with me. He has said he never wants to be weak again and we teach him as long as he is willing to learn.
Chase stoops down and rubs Adira's bump.
"I can't wait for you to get here, just a little longer and patience." Chase whispers to the baby.
Adira's eyes gloss over as she start to fan her face.
"Okay, okay we need to be heading down to the field." Adira mumbles.
"Why don't we use the elevator?" I ask.
"I would have to be half dead first." Adira growls.
I pick her up and carry her down the stairs. We walk out back and Abat is standing with her father, a warrior within the pack.
"Are you guys ready?" Adira asks.
"Yes." Chase and Abat answer.
I notice Abigail, Adam, Andrew, and several others off to the side from the main little crew. Claire steps up next to Adira, as they look over the papers Adira brought.
"We need to get used to chanting the simple spell." Adira tells them.
Claire and Adira say it together. Chase and Abat starts to repeat it after a few times of hearing it.
Within a few minutes, Claire and Adira stops saying it but Chase and Abat are saying it flawlessly.
We need someone with a small scratch for them to try the spell out on. Adira links me.
I nod my head and Adira moves over, her claws extended. She takes my hand and neither of the kids notice.
Adira rakes her nail on my palm and causes a small cut to form.
"Can you both heal this?" Adira asks softly.
Both of the kids stop chanting and look up to us.
Chase and Abat step up and chant the spell. Within a few minutes nothing happens, they both break off and rub their heads.
"It's okay. Take a deep breath and release it slowly. Once you have done that, tap into the magic you can feel." Adira gently instructs.
Chase and Abat both follow Adira's steps and step back up to my hand. At the same time they begin the spell again, this time I can feel my skin molding back together. The blood drying up a second after, like my skin reasborbs it.
They stop and stare at what they just accomplished, with wide eyes.
Chase starts jumping up and down, pulling Abat with him. They both are laughing, beyond happy.
I look over at Adira to see, her fighting tears back again. This is an incredibly happy moment as these two learn the Healers way and embracing half of who they are.
