Dinner is right at ready. Melissa links me.

I send her a quick thanks. Locking the computer up so that the password has to be entered, before shutting it down for now.

I typically would be in the kitchen helping make dinner, but after today I have been stuck in this office.

Once everyone left, I got busy on the paperwork side of things. I really want to get ahead of all of it, plus it is a great way for my mind not to be able to wonder.

All those questions would drive me insane if I let myself go there.

I run to my room and change into more formal wear. Which was literally just changing my top. I rarely put a dress on. I have them but they hang in the back of the closet, barely seeing the light of day.

I am not like mom at all and wear summer dresses. She said after having me she just kept to them unless training, because they was more on the comfortable side.

To me though, dresses are like a straight jacket. I have to watch how I move and everything else, just so no members see anything they really have no business seeing.

Even being Alpha, I would rather shred my clothes to shift instead of undress in front of the pack. I have loads of clothes placed throughout the pack to where when I shift back I can throw on something.

Running down the stairs, I can already hear some chatter coming from the dining hall. Instead of going in there, I beeline around to the kitchen.

Melissa smiles when she sees me walk in. "I was just fixing to start putting the food on the table."

"No need to do it alone. Show me what you would like to be taken out first." I tell her.

I look at the counter to see many different dishes ready to go out. When Melissa said she was making something good, she definitely was not kidding.

I smell so many different things coming from the platters. I see a huge bowl with some kind of weird looking stuff inside, but it's calling my name already. It looks to have hamburger, noodles, and some type of cream.

"Just grab whatever you want to carry out. Layla has already started carrying the bread items out, after she placed the table." Melissa smiles, grabbing many platters at once.

I pick up the huge pot and make my way to the door. Opening it up for both Melissa and myself.

We walk to the table where no one is sitting at yet but just spread out on the floor standing to talk. My eyes spot Abbs and Zeke towards the head of the table. They are both watching in the distance. Following their eyes, I spot Fred right away. He is talking with Uncle Nathan and Andrew. It is as if he can feel my eyes on him, he looks over to me just as I place the pot down.

I move to go back to the kitchen and help finish bringing everything out to the table.

I clear my throat to grab everyones attention.

"Why don't we all get seated and enjoy this lovely meal Melissa has whipped up for us?" I ask everyone.

I stand by my chair and watch everyone take their seats. Once everyone is seated, I finally sit in my own. I like being the last to sit down. My members respect me and I respect them.

Taking a look around I notice that Fred is sitting on the other side of Zeke. So that means Abbs is right next to me and Zeke next to her, then it is Fred.

I do like that he is staying close by especially when he is in the trial stage of becoming a member.

"So Fred, what made you ready to join a pack?" I ask him, while putting some of the hamburger concoction on my plate.

"Um, I'm just tired of not belonging. Having to look for the next thing and if any packs would come against me." Fred looks down at his plate, while talking.

"Are you being truthful with me? Also did you know this pack took some major hits from rogues around twenty five years prior, so it could have ended differently when you came up to my pack." I ask him and throw in the obvious history that many of our kind knows.

"I knew of the attacks, but I was closer to your pack. I just wanted to join a pack." Fred answers.

I take a bite of food and slightly narrow my eyes at him. I noticed how he kind of slipped around the questions about being truthful. Okay, let's play a game and work around it.

It is hard to focus because Storm is back to doing zoomies. This would be easier if she would focus with me, that way we could hone in and see if he has anything around him.

Since I am on my own, I will keep up with the questions.

"So where were you born." I ask him.

Most of the table is in their own conversations and it is just the normal crew listening to Fred and I.

I notice he chokes on his bite of food some.

"I was born in the States." Fred answers.

"Is your parents still around?" I push a little more. It is all things I will add to his file.

"No, I never knew my mother. My father was killed when I was young." Fred answers, but seems to be turning a slight red color.

I hit a nerve. I smirk on the inside. Good to know there is something that does make his handsome self tick. That is more than enough on that front, for now.

"So everyone within my pack has a spot where they help to keep the pack being what it is. Do you have any talents or interest on what you may want to or can do?" I ask him.

Abbs sends me a knowing look. She must have been waiting to know as well.

"I don't know much, but I do like to fight." Fred smirks.

That smirk he give does something to me, and my body is responding. Stop it Adira. Calm down, now is by no means the time. It is has just been to long since I have got any relief.

"Sounds like you may be good to try out for a warrior position then." I muse.

We eat some more with no banter between us.

Right as everyone is finishing up, I make a move to speak to Fred again.

"Meet us out on the training field six a.m. sharp." I tell him.

I stand and move my dishes to the kitchen, then bid everyone a goodnight.

I make my way to the office to log in everything I have learned about Fred at this dinner.

Now to just find out more, and at some point ask him if he feels anything for me at all. If he is my mate I will be asking why I don't smell him like I should. All the other signs are there but the scent is the main keypoint part. I will figure this out.

How do I bring it up to him and do it away from other ears?

A/N---
Hey Hey Guys!!!

The dinner has happened! Thoughts on how you think it went?

Adira may think she got information but is it enough for now or should she have pushed harder questions?
