Omniscient pov

"Noo! Please, please take me to her!" Kodie screamed

"Noooo!" She cried out. Fighting hitting anything in her way

Rae pov

"Fuck! What the hell?" I woke up startled out of my sleep. Kodie was next to me swinging and crying.

"Baby! Baby wake up! It's just a dream kodie, wake up!" I shook her

"No no no no" she continued to cry

"Baby it's just a dream wake up" I said tearing up. I hated this side of her. The sleepless nights and horrible things she sees. I hate it for her. I wish I can take it all away.

"Baby please wake up, I'm here. Im here." I said kissing her softly as an attempt to wake her up. Finally her eyes fluttered open. They were so dark, she looked so terrified.

"Rae..." she whispered touching my face with tear filled eyes

"Yes baby, I'm here" she pulled me into a hug squeezing me as she cries into my shoulder

"She's gone Rae she's gone! I was waiting for you I thought I lost yo-"

"Baby it wasn't real, I'm here baby. You could never lose me. Look at me baby."

"But it was so real. I lost mama, I lost you, I couldn't find lani either." She said with tear filled eyes

"We are all still here babe. It was just a bad dream." I said embracing her as an attempt to calm her.

"Come here " I said as I stood up reaching my hand out to her. I lead her out into the hall to her mother's room. I quietly open her door and sure enough she was there resting peacefully. Her grip on my hand tightened.

"See baby. None of it was real. We are all still here. Even lani, she's upstairs with cam as well." She nodded as a single tear fell onto her cheek.

"Come on" we went back into the room and I grabbed my box and a blanket. We slid out back onto the patio. The night was beautiful, full moon with a sky full of stars. I sat my box on the table and sat into the lawn chair wrapping the blanket behind me

"Come sit with me baby." She came and sat in my lap facing me wrapping the blanket around her as well.

"I love you so much." I said grabbing a pre rolled blunt from my box and lighting it taking a long drag before handing it to her. I let her keep it as I lit my own

"It felt so real." She said taking a long drag.

"I was so heartbroken when I saw you weren't there, I figured you finally had gotten what you wanted. And left me." She said looking down as her voice cracked

"Is that what you think of me?" I asked
"Hum?" I said lifting her chin so I could look at her.

"I'm not that person anymore kodie. I fucking love you with everything in me. I hate every fucker who wronged you. Even myself sometimes." I said looking down. It's true though. What I did to her was so sickening it literally make my stomach turn. And for what? Nothing. To break her down even more? I hate myself for it and although she forgives me, I don't forgive myself.

"If I could change everything. I would. If I could take away everything that haunts you and brings you pain I would." I said as I wiped tears from both of our eyes

"I'm so tired" She cried . I put out my blunt and held her as she cried

"I can't do this anymore. I want out. School, life, everything it's to much. I just wanna go away." She softly cried out. It hurt me because she was hurting and I understand her.

"Baby I can get you some help. You need help." I said trying to be strong. She couldn't speak so she nodded. Life is different for everyone. Some people are strong enough for the battle, and some become casualties in war. She is one of the strongest ones and she doesn't even know it. But I'm going to be here for her every step of the way.
