Her Secret

Chapter 1

Maddy sat on the window seat in her dorm room looking out the window at the rubble littering the Hogwart grounds. A tear slid down her cheak as she watched the rain stream down the stained glass window pane. Had it really only been a day since the love if her life had died?

She was thrown down to the ground as shards of glass and stone littered the ground. She opened her eyes snd saw the world around her covered in a dusty haze. She struggled to stand as she ignored the dizziness from the impact and the intense ringing in her ears. Maddy stumbled around desperately screaming "Fred!" over and over again until she heard a voice croak "Over here" and then a fit of coughing. She spun around and saw Fred a few feet away from her lying under a pile of rubble and broken glass. She rushed towards him and desperately tried to remove the pieces if stone crushing his lower body until she felt his hand on her arm. "It's no use" he said as he winced in pain "No there has to be a way. What if w-" "Stop! It's pointless so why don't you just enjoy my devastatingly handsome good looks while you can" he said with a devilish grin. She rolled her eyes and smiled through the tears and then gently placed his head on her lap. "Please don't leave me" "I need you" she cried the tears carving through the thin layer of ash and soot on her cheeks. "Hey it'll be okay I promise" he said as she stroaked his flaming red hair "No it won't! I-I'm pregnant and I can't raise this child without you!" She sobbed. "I'm so sorry that I won't be around to see our child but I will always be with you in spirit and all that crap" he said with a pained laugh. She kissed him softly on the lips as Fred smiled one last time as the light left his eyes and he drew his last breath.

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<end of flashback>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Maddy heard a knock on the door and shakily said "Come in". In strode her best friend and house mate Draco Malfoy. He was devilishly handsome with white blonde hair and Emerald green eyes but was painfully narcissistic. "Hey how are you holding up?" He said with a worried expression as he ran his hand through his tousled blonde hair. "I'm doing fine" Maddy whispered her voice unsteady, but Draco knew she was lying and wrapped his arms tightly around her shivering body as she cried. "I'll be here for you I promise" Draco whispered into her long brown hair.

They stayed like that for hours until Maddy finally broke the embrace "I'm sorry you had to see me like that" she said wiping tears from her face. "You don't ever have to apologize to me okay? Besides what are best friends for?" He said giving her a warm smile which would have been shocking since he hardly ever smiled but when he was in with her smiling was practically all he did. Draco went to walk out of her dorm room and go to bed since it was past curfew when Maddy grabbed his arm. "C-Could you stay with me tonight?" She pleaded "I just don't want to be alone after..." she shuddered. His eyes softened at the sight of her "Of course" he said gently. Draco originally slept on the floor but halfway through the night Maddy awoke screaming from a terrible nightmare so he ended up climbing into her bed which was fine with Draco. "Just as after she had fallen asleep Draco whispered "I love you" so soft it was almost impossible to hear and then he fell into a dreamless sleep as he hugged her to his chest.
