Her Secret

Chapter 6

Maddy and Draco awoke to see the Astronomy teacher, Professor Aurora Sinistra, tapping her foot and looking down at them with a stern expression on her face. "What pray tell are you doing here and at thus ungodly hour of the morning?" She demanded. "We uh umm" Maddy stammered but luckily Draco covered for her "We had heard there was a meteor shower so we decided to come up here but we ended yo falling asleep." Draco said lying smoothly. Well not exactly lying but just stretching the truth Maddy thought. "Be glad I'm not telling Professor Snape" she said sternly but then smiled and said "I had my fair share of romantic escapades up here when I was a student here at Hogwarts. But don't let it happen happen again." She said with a wink and then apparated in a flash. Draco burst out laughing at the fact that Professor Aurora had just said "romantic escapades" while Maddy just sat there in shock until she finally started laughing hysterically. After a few minutes of continuous laughter she took a deep breath and stood up "I wish I could stay but I happen to have Quidditch game and so do you" she said pointedly. Draco's face suddenly turned stonily serious "are you sure you'll be okay? I mean playing quidditch in your condition can't be safe" he protested "I'll be fine!" Maddy said dramatically. "Alright..but promise you'll be careful?" Draco said warily "I promise" she said kissing his cheek affectionately and then skipping out the door.

Maddy had just finished putting her quidditch gear on when she saw Draco standing in the doorway of the locker room smirking. "You ready?" he asked " Of course" Maddy said and walked confidently past him, grabbed her Nimbus 2001 and blew him a kiss as she walked away. She heard him running to catch up and grinned when she saw him blushing slightly.

They all flew up to there positions in the quidditch arena straddling there broomsticks. Maddy took her place as Keeper besides the goal and Draco took his place as Seeker. Griffindor on one side and, Maddy's team, Slytherin on the other. The Referee stood in the middle circle counting down until he would release all four balls into the sky. "4,3,2,1! Let the game begin!" He shouted and then the four balls became airborne. The game soon reached full on chaos as Bludgers flew through the air nocking players off there broomsticks and the seekers chased down the golden snitches as it raced through the air. Maddy stopped one of the griffindor, Ron, from making a goal but slamming her broom into his and directing the Quaffle out of it's directed path. She turned around and saw a Bludger hurtling towards her at rapid speed. She attempted to duck but it was too late she was already falling towards the hard ground. She braced herself for the impact but it never came.

Draco had been chasing after the Golden Snitch when he saw Maddy plummeting towards the ground. He raced towards her as fast as he could attempting to reach her before she hit the ground. He swerved his Broomstick left and leaned forward, swooping dangerously low as he let go and reached out his arms to catch her small frame. She landed in his arms and his broomstick spiraled out of control and skidded it the ground. Draco landed with Maddy on top of him luckily breaking her fall.

Professor Snape rushed out onto the sand covered arena and shouted "What were you thinking Malfoy! You could've hurt yourself along with Miss Lovegoode but it was nonetheless extremely brave" he said helping them both up. Maddy winced as she stood noticing how much her ankle hurt and looked down to see it twisted at an obtuse angle. Draco noticed the pained look on her face and followed her gaze to her ankle. He gasped "We need to get you to Madam Pomfrey and get your ankle looked at" he said and then a little quieter "and make sure the babies okay". Maddy's looked at him with a wide eyed gaze " I hadn't even thought about the baby!" "Hey it'll be okay" Draco said reassuringly and then gently picked her up and started carrying her to the infirmary with Professor Snape trailing behind.
