Her Secret

Chapter 12

Maddy walked down the stone pathway and away from the looming glare of Malfoy Manor. As she was walking she heard a voice calling her name. She spun around to see Draco running after her with an angry look in his cool blue eyes. "I was worried sick about you! I had no clue where you were, but when I figured it out I just felt betrayed" Draco spat. "You don't own me! I thought you'd be thrilled to earn I obtained this!" Maddy said sarcastically holding up her arm and revealing the tattoo. "You promised" Draco said "You know what fine if this is the life you want then you can have it!" He yelled angrily then apparated into thin air. Maddy stormed off towards Hogsmeade since she needed time to calm down.

Maddy had been walking around Hogsmeade for about an hour drinking butter beer and wandering through random shops when she finally came across Fred and George's joke shop. She took a shaky breath determined to walk away, but she couldn't, she had to go in one more time. She slowly walked up to the colorfully painted door and opened it, setting of a chorus of bells and whistles to signal her arrival. She stared up at the ceiling in amazement at the different fireworks and gadgets whizzing through the air. Her eyes gazed the assorted jokes and tricks as she remembered all times she'd spent with Fred in here. Maddy fixed her gaze on a tall red headed boy sitting at the counter and for a moment she could pretend it was Fred but deep down inside she knew it was George. She felt a stray tear slip down her cheek, but quickly wiped it away.

"Hi, how are you?" She said walking up to him.

"I'm fine how are you?" George said politely "I'm fine.." Maddy said looking down at the ground. "I know about the baby" George said standing up and giving her a hug. Maddy gasped in surprise but melted into his arms letting a few tears flow down her face. "There was a baby, but it died a few days ago" Maddy said. George pulled away and looked at her and Maddy saw a wave of sadness pass over him. "I'm so sorry. I thought maybe there would be another piece if him left ya know?" He said "I know but he's gone" Maddy said. "Yeah" George took her face in his hands and brushed away a tear. For a moment Maddy let herself believe it was Fred as he leaned in and kissed her. She realized it was all in her head and pushed George away.

Just then she heard the door swing open and the series of bells and whistles. She turned to see Draco standing in the door way with an angry look on his stern face. He ran his hand through his white blonde hair and glared at Georhe with hus piercing blue eyes. He confidently walked towards her and then proceeded to step in front of her and push her behind him. "Stay away from her!" He growled "Why should I?" George challenged defiantly. Draco grinned wickedly and then punched him square in the jaw. "That's why" Draco said matter if factly and then put his arm around Maddy, who just stood there in shock, and steered her out of the store, leaving a very angry Geirge behind.

As soon as they had left Maddy turned to Draco. "You didn't have to punch him!" she yelled. " What did you want me to do? He was kissing you!" He threw his hands up in the air. "I don't know but you didn't have to punch him." She sighed "Whateve. I'm tired can we go home?" She asked avoiding eye contact. "Sure" He said his tone softening when he saw she was crying.

Draco apparated them back to Maddy's dorm room. When they arrived she stalked over to the bed and sat down dejectedly. "What's wrong darling?" Draco asked sitting down besides her. "I was just really looking forward to being a mom and it was also the last piece I had of him.." She said crying a little. "I know it's gonna be okay." He reassured her. Madfy looked up at him and smiled a sad smile. She then wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him softly. Draco deepened the kiss and placed his hands around her waist pulling her closer than she thought possible. The kiss grew more and more passionate by the second. He kissed down her neck making his way back to her lips each kiss rougher than the last. Maddy was practically on his lap at that point and Maddy gasped as they fell back into the bed in a tangle of limbs and heartbreak.

Maddy awoke the next morning with her head on Dracos bare chest listening to the sound of his steady heartbeat. She looked up and gave him a quick peck on the lips. He opened his eyes and smiled "Good morning beautiful" he said. "Morning handsome" She grinned. "You should probably get going before someone realizes your missing" Maddy said tossing him his clothes. "Do I have to!?" Draco whined pouting. "Yes! Now go" she said shooing him out the door laughing "Not without a kiss" Draco said devilishly. "Nope" Maddy said and then playfully slammed the door.

Maddy walked out into the hallway towards the Slytherin commons room but was stopped by Pansy. "I saw you and Draco last night" She said glaring at her. "Your point?" Maddy asked rolling her eyes. "My point is that I want you it stay away from him" Pansy said glaring at her. Just as the words had passed her lips Draco walked by and asked "Is there a problem here?" "N-o-o" Pansy stuttered. "Good" Draco said taking Maddy's hand and leading her into the common room laughing.

Maddy sat on the edge if the bathtub in the prefects bathroom looking down at a small plastic stick in her hand that had two pink lines running across it. She felt the tears running down her face as she whispered "I'm pregnant" to herself.
