Her Secret

Chapter 7

Maddy woke up with a splitting headache that felt like tiny dwarfs slamming pick axes against her skull. She attempted to sit up but quickly laid back down when she was hit by a wave of dizzy spells. She took in her surroundings and realized she was lying in one of the beds in the hospital wing. She looked over and saw Draco asleep in a plastic chair next to her bed. "Draco" she croaked her voice a little horse. "Hey how are you feeling?" He asked croggily rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "I'm feeling okay I guess...What happened?"Maddy asked. "Do you remember the Quidditch match?" He asked, she nodded yes, "Well as I was carrying you back you passed out from the pain and you've been asleep for almost twenty-four hours." He stated. All of the sudden Maddy looked down at her slightly protruding stomach and remembered the baby. "Is the baby alright?" She asked nervously "I couldn't bear it if anything were to happen! I mean it's the last piece any of us have of Fred and.." She started to sob. " It's alright the baby's fine" Draco said giving her an awkward hug not knowing what to do in that particular situation. " Stupid hormones!" Maddy groaned which caused a laugh from Draco.

A few minutes later Madam Pomfrey came around with her clipboard to check her vitals. "Your extremely lucky that the baby wasn't injured" She said looking sternly at Maddy and Draco. "Would you like us to do an ultrasound so you can see your baby?" Madam Pomfrey asked. " Sure.." Maddy said looking over at Draco for reasurrence who squeazed her hand gently. A few moments later Madam Pomfrey was putting a cool blue gell on Maddy's slightly protruding abdomen. She then moved her wand over her stomach and a few seconds later a fuzzy image appeared in the air above her wand. "Your about 9 weeks along" Maddy gasped and felt tears begin to stream down her cheeks. There above Madam Pomfreyes wand was an image of a walnut sized lump and you wouldn't think it was anything special until you heard the faint pitter patter of a heartbeat, but it was special. It was her baby. Draco grinned at Maddy and whiped away a tear on her cheek. "Do the two parents need a moment alone?" Madam Pomfrey saus smiling at the young couple. "I'm actually not the.. umm..the father that is." Draco said looking down at his feet. "Oh my! Well may I ask who is?" Madam Pomfrey said trying to hide her surprise "Its Fred's" Maddy said quietly. "Oh dear I'm so sorry!" Madam Pomfrey said giving her a warm hug. "It's alright besides I have Draco" She said putting on a fake smile.

"Im prescribing bed rest for about a week and no more Quidditch! Also be careful on that ankle of yours" She said gesturing to her ankke which was nearly beaked tganks to the wonders of magic. She then took Draco aside and whisoered something in his ear that Maddy couldn't quite discern. All she saw was Madam Pomfrey say something that made Draco turn pale and give a murderous look to no one in particular. Draco then walked over to her bed and gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead and said " I'll be back in a little while but in the meantime you need to get some rest!" He ordered " Okay okay but where are going anyways?" She asked "No where" he says walking out the door.

Harry was sitting on the ground in the Room of Requirements casting mindless spells thinking about the war when he heard Draco Malfoys voice yell "Crucio!" Harry cried out as pain rippled through his body "What the hell are you doing!" he screamed through grunts of pain. "You hurt her is I hurt you" Draco said viciously " What are you talking about?" Harry grunted writhing in pain. "You were the one who sent the Bludger flying at Maddy" Draco said sending another wave of agony through Harry "Thats not even possible I'm the seeker!" Harry protested. "I meant if you hadn't flown by her with the Bludger following you she wouldn't have gotten hurt!" Draco yelled "It was an accident" Harry said through tears. "I don't care accident or not she almost lost the baby because of you" He said coldly. Draco sent one last wave of pain through his body before walking away and leaving Harry on the cold floor writhing in pain like the pathetic worm he was.
