Her Secret

Chapter 10

Maddy opened her eyes groggily and saw bright white light streaming in through a window. She realized she was once again in the infirmary and sighed. She looked down and saw Draco resting his head on her stomach. "Draco?" She whispered . Draco shot up and looked around worriedly but calmed down when he saw a perplexed Maddy staring at him. "Your awake!" He said hugging her close to him and kissing her forehead. When he released her from his embrace Maddy noticed his eyes were puffy from crying. "What happened to me anyways?" Maddy asked. "You saved me from Harry's attack in the bathroom remember?" Draco explained holding her hand as if she would dissapere in a blink of an eye. Maddy gasped as it all came rushing back "How long have I been asleep?" She asked taking a deep breath. "A week" Draco said his voice cracking "Hey it's okay I'm okay." Maddy said reassuringly shocked at how upset he was. "No it's not okay Maddy" He said "What do you mean?" Maddy asked anxiously. "The baby it-its dead" Draco said quietly letting a tear slide down his cheek. "What! No! It was all I had left of Fred!" Maddy sobbed.

"Why would Harry attack you in the first place?" Maddy asked angrily " I performed the Crucio curse on him after the quiditch match." Draco said quietly. "You did what! Why couldn't you just leave things alone for once?" Maddy cried "I'm sorry I never meant for this to happen." Draco saI'd trying to give her a hug but Maddy pushed him away. "I don't care if your sorry! Just get out!" She screamed at him and then started to sib into her pillow. Draco reluctantly got uo and started walking away but right before he left he whispered "I love you" but there was no reply.

Draco spent the rest of the day locked in his room thinking about what he'd done. Later that night he heard a knock at the door. "Come in" he said relunctantly. In walked none other than Maddays best friend Lily. "What do you want?" He snarled and much to his surprise she slapped him. "You are an absolute idiot!" "Your the reason her baby's dead and all you can do is wallow in your sorrow while she's in pain!" Lily shouted. A few seconds later Maddys other best friends, Arianna and Leah, ran through the door panting. "Lily it's not his fault. He was just trying to help!" Arianna says between breathed "I mean it kind of is hus fault but you still shouldn't blow uo at him lily" Leah says calmly. "No it's as much his fault as it is Harry's" Lily said and then stalked out of the room followed by Leah and Arianna who mouthed sorry as they shut the door. Draco sighed, turned of the lights, and fell into a dark dreamless sleep.

The next day Maddy was released from the infirmary and was allowed to stay in her dorm as long as she took it easy and was in bed rest for a few days. She entered her room and carefully laid down on the bed with the help of Leah and Arianna. "Thanks" she told them as she burrowed under the pile of thick, fuzzy blankets. "No problem" Leah said "We'll tell lily your okay." Arianna said with a sympathetic smile. Maddy sighed. Lily and her hadnt been on the best terms since the accident due to lily dating Harry. A few minutes they both had left Maddy heard someone singing slightly out of tune outside her doorway.

Maddy asked cautiously "Draco is that you?" "Yeah, I'm sorry for what happened so could you please let me in so I could stop singing off pitch?" Draco said through the door. "Sure" Maddy said smiling at the fact that he remembered that "Lucky Ones" by Lana Del Ray was her favorite song. Draco slowly walked through the door and closed it behind him. "Hey, how are you?" He asked concerned "I'm fine just tired" She said. "So will you forgive me?" Draco asked coming to sit on the edge of her bed "Of course" Maddy said as Draco gave her a comforting hug. Draco broke the embrace and pulled a small dress meant for a baby out from his robe pocket. "It was supposed to be for the baby. I was kind if hoping for a girl." Draco said handing it to her. "Oh Draco" Maddy said wiping tears from her eyes. Maddy and Draco Solent the rest of the night together in eachothers arms sobbing. After they had calmed down some Maddy said seven words that would change everything. "I want to be a Death Eater" She said into the dark abyss of night where her secrets would be safe.
