Her Secret

Chapter 14

Draco hadn't left Maddy's side since she told him about the baby. He would wrap his arm around her shoulder everywhere they went and would practically carry her up and down the stairs saying it was too much stress on her. She would have found it sweet if she didn't find it exceptionally annoying. He even waited outside the bathroom for her. One day when they were walking to Defense Against the Dark Arts Maddy stopped him and said "I know your worried and all but you really don't need to fuss over me like this it's getting on my nerves" she sighed. Draco looked rather taken back by this and said "I'm sorry if I seem over protective but after what happened...I just can't bear to go through that again and neither can you". "I know and I'm grateful really I am but just please try to tone it down a notch?" She asked giving him a peck in the cheek "Okay okay one condition though I want a proper kiss" he demanded wiggling his eyebrows at her. Maddy burst out into a fit of giggles "fine but not right now lover boy" she said over her shoulder as she stalked off to her next class.

When Maddy got back to her dorm she found a note on her pillow.

Dear Maddy,

Meet me in Knockturn Alley at the stroke of midnight tonight

outside of Borgin and Burkes.

Draco Malfoy/lover boy

Maddy laughed at the last part and proceeded to get ready. She curled her long brown hair and did black dramatic smoky eye with winged eyeliner. She then put on a little black dress that went to her mid thigh and flailed out at the waist, and had an open back in the shape of a v with a big black bow at the bottom. She then put on a pair of tiny pearl earrings and smiled at the mirror with satisfaction.

When she arrived in Knockturn Alkey the first thing she noticed was how quiet and empty it was. Then she noticed the candles. Thousands of white candles floated I the air guiding her way towards Borgin and Burkes. She giggled and followed the trail eagerly. When she finally reached her destination she stood there in awe. The rest of Knockturn Alley was alight with magical stars that danced through the air like little fairies. She heard the bell tower chime at the stroke of midnight. She heard a loud roar and looked up at the sky to see sparking fireworks burst into the air. Some were normal but others were rainbow and changed color constantly. Some even took the shape of animals and whiz zed through the air before disappearing. She heard a voice behind her.

"You look gorgeous" Draco said. Maddy turned around and saw him standing on the steps of Borgin and Burkes wearing a black tux and grinning at her. "Thank you" she blushed " you look rather handsome yourself". He laughed. "So what's the occasion?" Maddy asked gesturing to everything around her. "Well umm okay here I go" Draco said nervously as he got down on one knee and pulled out a giant gold and Emerald ring. Maddy gasped in surprise. "Maddy Violet Lovegoode, I have loved you for as long as I can remember. I can't imagine life without you and I know there have been some ups and downs but we've stayed strong through it all. I can't believe were going to be parents in a few months and I also couldn't be happier. I know I love you and that's really all I need to know in order to ask you this. Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He asked. Maddy felt tears of joy stream down her face "Yes!" she squealed as he placed the ring on her finger. "It was my mothers" he said smiling "I love it" she said admiring the ring in the starlight. "I love you" she whispered "I love you too" Draco said. Draco leaned in and softly kissed Maddy on the lips. Maddy smiled against his mouth and deepened the kiss.
