Her Secret

Chapter 5

Maddy spent the rest of the day thinking about what Draco had said. She had been so deep in thought during potions class that she hadn't even noticed when Proffesor Snape had called on her. "Miss Lovegood I'm waiting?" He said impatiently "Sorry I wasn't paying attention" she stammered. "Very well, Miss Granger?" He said reluctantly callung on Hermione who of course knew the answer. She sighed relieved at the fact that she had gotten away with that thanks to the fact that she was a Slytherin. Maddy spent the rest of the day going through the motions of going to class and then skipping lunch due to the fact that she couldn't keep anything down.

It finally came time for dinner and she rushed to the Great Hall since she was starving having skipped lunch. When she got there Draco was already seated and had saved a place next to him, but she ignored it and ended up sitting next to Pansy who was dreadfully anoying, but she simply couldn't bear talking to him at the moment. Draco kept trying to get her attention but Maddy refused to look at him until finally she cracked. As they were leaving she told him to meet her in the Astronomy Tower at 10:30 that night.

Maddy was lying on the cold stone floor of the Astronomy Tower balcony staring up at the stars when she heard footsteps echo throughout the room. She sat up and turned around to see Draco standing uncomfortably in the doorway. "Hey, you can sit down you know" Maddy said gesturing for him to sit down next to her. He walked over and gracefully took a seat next it her on the floor and looked out into the darkness of the velvety night. They sat in silence for what seemed like hours until Draco finally asked the thing that was on both there minds. "So have you made your decision?" He questioned looking over at her with a serious expression chiseled on his handsome face. She took a deep breath and looked over at him.

"Yeah I have. Im sorry but I won't become a Death Eater because if I did then Freds death and countless others would have been in vain. I wasn't necessarily part of Dumbledores Army but I still fought for the good side, but even so I love you more than any thing so I'll support you but I won't join you. Okay?" She said looking him dead in the eyes. "Okay but I don't care if you decide to join or not I just want to be with you" he said and then he pulled her close to him and kissed her softly on the lips. Maddy wrapped her arms around his neck and ran her fingers through his pale blonde hair. He started kissing her jaw and worked his way back it her mouth each kiss hungrier than the last and what had started as a simple kiss had turned into a full make out session.

Later that night as they were lying on the ground looking up at the twinkling stars Draco reached over and tenderly placed his hand on her stomach. "What on earth are you doing?" Maddy demanded. "I'm trying to feel him kick." He stated matter of factly. Maddy bursted into a a fit of laughter "You can't feel the baby kick yet it's only a few weeks old" she said through fits of giggles. "Oh" Draco said turning a deep shade of scarlett. Suddenly his expression turned serious and he said "Just so you know I'll be there for you..and the baby. Not just as a friend or a boyfriend but as a sort of father figure." "Draco you don't have to do that. It's my problem not yours and as much as I appreciate it I can't let you take the blame." Maddy said looking away as she blinked back tears. "Maddy I dont care if it's not my responsibility because I love you more than the stars and the moon combined and I promise to take care of both of you" he said giving her a hug. "Thank you" she said into his shirt.

Maddy was lying with her head on Dracos chest when she saw a streak of light flash across the velvety blue background of sky and then another and another. "Draco look" she said pointing up at the sky. He looked up in amazement and smiled at Maddy thinking how beautiful she looked illuminated by the starlight. He kissed her once more and they fell asleep in each others arms watching an array of dazzling stars dancing across the night sky.
