Her Secret

Chapter 4

Maddy closed her eyes waiting for a response but it never came. She opened her eyes and looked up to see a mix of disgust and anger on Dracos face. "Your what?!" Draco demanded "I'm pregnant!" Maddy screamed. Draco rubbed his forhead and closed his eyes "How could you be so stupid and with a Weasley of all people!" He spat. "Are you serious right now Draco! Weren't you just proclaiming your undying love or was that just all talk and no action like everything else you do!" She yelled. "Get out! I don't want to see you right now." She said "No Maddy I'm sorry just wait a minute it's a lot to take in" he pleaded but she had already slammed the door. He sighed and slumped down on the ground.

Maddy woke up the next morning to her alarm going of and realized classes were starting up again for the first time since the war. She was a 6th year but Draco was a 7th year so she thanked the heavens she didn't have any classes with him. She sighed and got up to brush her teeth and get dressed. She stood sideways in front of the mirror and lifted her shirt and realized with a jolt that there was already a small bump. She smiled and rubbed it affectionately thinking of the fact that she still had a small piece of Fred. She realized that she'd probably have to go see a mediwizard soon to make sure everything was okay but in order to that it meant telling someone. She groaned and decided to put it off along with everything else and headed down to breakfast

When she arrived in the Great Hall she quietly took her seat next to Draco and tried to avoid making eye contact. "Hey, listen I'm really sorry about yesterday." He said "Is there any way I could talk to you in private?" He whispered looking around to make sure no one was listening. She sighed "Fine but not right now because I happen to be starving!" Draco looked at her a grinned only to receive a death glare which made him smile even more. After Maddy had finished a breakfast consisting of about five donuts she grabbed Draco's arm and dragged him out of the great hall and into a hidden corridor. "What do you want to talk about?" Maddy demanded but instead of saying anything Draco grabbed her by the shoulders and kissed her more forcefully than she thought was possible. Maddy fought against it at first but then gave in and wrapped her arms around his neck, closed her eyes, and kissed him back just as fiercely. Draco finally broke the kiss and wrapped her in a tight embrace. "I'm sorry" he whispered into her hair. "I promise I won't leave you and I'll be there for you and the baby okay?" he asked "okay.." she said into his muscular chest.

All of the sudden Draco cried out and clutched his arm. "What is it? What's wrong?" Maddy asked worriedly. "Nothing I'm fine" Draco insisted trying to hide his arm from her but he winced in pain failing to fool her. Maddy grabbed his arm and gasped when she saw what was on it. There on his forearm was a snake in the shape of an eight holding a skull. The mark of a Death Eater. "I'm so sorry" he said. "How could you? I thought you were better than this! Better than your father!" Draco tried to protest but Maddy interrupted "But apparently I was wrong" she said with a look of betrayal. "Just let me explain!" he pleaded "Fine" she said "make it quick.".

"My father took me to see lord Voldemort and forced me to get this mark. I resented it at first but I soon came to believe in the dark lords cause. I regret killing all those innocent people but I do not regret joining the dark side. I'm sorry for not telling you and for killing but that's all I'm sorry for" Draco said looking her in the eyes with no shame "please consider joining the dark side with me. Something big is happening I know you think it's all over but its not so please?" He begged.

Maddy sighed "I'll think about but thats all I can do." she said and then walked away towards her potions class.
