21) The Catalyst Bond

One year later...

2985

The night of their wedding they both slipped into comas, Jax woke up three days later and Ambrose woke up seven days later, ever since the tension between them has been suffocating. Something happened that night that neither talk about, they act friendly in front of their daughter but alone they barely speak, Ambrose now sleeps on the couch downstairs and rarely comes in their room for more than to get clothes. A year later this continues and Jax has had it, the day they got married their marriage fell apart, and damn if he was going to let it continue to break them.

"Can we talk Ambrose?" he pleads.

Ambrose refuses to look at him so Jax amends his phrase. "Upstairs. Now."

Surely enough he hears footsteps following him and their bedroom door shut quite forcefully. "What?" Ambrose mutters.

"Are you serious? What? Is that all you have to say? Are we just going to ignore what happened at our wedding? Something happened to us, and I hate the way we are right now, I know it's my fault too that I haven't reached out, but do you want to fix us? I love you and I was so happy to get married, we didn't even get one day of happiness. Don't think I haven't seen your arms either."

Ambrose's hands clamp down on his forearms where you would see numerous angry lines on his rugged skin. "I had a dream."

"Me too," Jax replies solemnly.

"You cheated on me."

"You killed yourself."

"I killed myself."

"I died on the inside."

"You didn't care."

"You cared."

"You didn't see me."

"You let go of my hand."

"I drove my car into the water."

"You fell into the water."

"You cried."

"I cried."

"I missed you."

"I loved you."

"You hurt me."

"You hurt me."

"I'm sorry."

"I'm sorry."

Ambrose was the first to break down and cry, Jax was the first to make a move and wrap Ambrose in his arms as he quakes. This is the most they had touched in a year, Sia knew something was up because her dad and papa were never around each other, she started hanging with Tarver and the Rosendes a lot, including the new addition Sybella Athrhea Kelly Rosende. It pains him to see Ambrose so upset, even after all this time apart it still upsets him deeply. "I'm sorry, I've been an idiot, I shouldn't have wasted all this time with you. I am so sorry Jax, I was upset, and it was wrong of me to do. I screwed up our marriage."

"You didn't screw anything up Amby. It's my fault too, I could've reached out and talked to you, but I didn't."

Their bedroom door opens to Rhea with her white hair now in a large, braided crown on her head. "Actually it is neither of your faults, Gem and I figured out what happened. You need to come to see this."
