"I don't know."--Jaxin

One year later...

2987

He should have known. They'd been through this so many times it shouldn't surprise him anymore, but after almost two years of bliss something, of course, had to go wrong. Ambrose had been happy for a while and it made Jax smile, it made him happy that his husband was finally happy. So much for happily ever after, huh?

The day started normal, Jax decided he was going to bring Ambrose breakfast in bed, and so he went to get out of bed and noticed something on the sheets. Upon further investigation said something turned out to be blood, and further investigation than that led him to the source of the blood. He is getting very tired of seeing unwelcome lines on his husband's thighs. They slept together last night and then took a shower before getting back in bed, Ambrose said he had to work on something before he came to sleep so Jax let him go. He felt him slip in bed some forty minutes later but was given his back, so Jax didn't feel the bandage or blood. Ambrose was still sleeping on his side when Jax made the discovery and became frozen, he must have deliberately stayed up later than Jax to do that-that is what pisses Jax off the most.

"Jax?"

He couldn't bear to look at Ambrose, but he also couldn't force himself to move. "Jaxin? Babe?"

That did it. He stands up and walks out of their room, on his way out he hears Ambrose curse. "Shit! It's not what it-"

"What it looks like? So tell me what it is Ambrose."

He is now sitting up in bed with the sheets away from his body, consciously pulling the fabric of his boxers down to cover the damage. "I'm sorry."

"You knew you were going to do that. You stayed up late with that bullshit excuse and made sure I was asleep before doing it, and that's why you slept with your back towards me so I wouldn't feel the bandage or blood. I know it's hard Ambrose, I understand that-hell, I did it too!-but the fact that you knew you were going to do it and made plans so I wouldn't interfere instead of talking to me...it hurts. And you waited until after we slept together so I wouldn't get suspicious."

"Jax-"

"Am I wrong?"

He lowers his head. "I didn't make plans to, I really had work to do, and I started feeling like that and...it just happened. I didn't sleep with you just so you wouldn't question it, I'm not like that. I promise this wasn't planned or intentional Jax, I wouldn't do that to you. Come here please," he whispers holding his hand out.

Jax looks away and places his hand on the door handle. "I'm gonna go. Don't follow me."

"Jax, babe, please-"

"Ambrose," Jax snaps, "Give it a rest, okay? You don't trust me, I get it, so stop making excuses when I get fed up with it. Do you realize how much I try to help you so that doesn't happen, I try my damned hardest and you deliberately go behind my back and do that. I'm sorry that you feel that way, it sucks, I know, but if you refuse my help then I can't stay here and keep wasting my breath when it's taking a toll on me too."

His eyes are wide and his body shakes slightly. "A-are y-you leaving me?"

"I don't know," Jax says truthfully before walking out, trying his best to ignore the heartbroken look on his husband's face and the painful sob that comes through the door. As he's walking down the stairs he sees Rhea looking upstairs with a concerned look. "Take care of him; he's going to need it."
