Jaemin

I look at myself in the mirror for a while, taking in all my appearance. After a while, I nod in satisfaction before looking down at my phone, smiling when I saw a text from Mark. I still found it unbelievable that I would be going out with him, even if it was just a pair of friends hanging out on a Saturday afternoon.

My phone rings one more time and I dash out of my room and down the stairs. "Na Jaemin! Where are you going?!" My brother shouts as I pass through his room.

"Somewhere! I'll be back by ten!" I shout back, hoping that he would deliver that information to my mom who was out working.

He doesn't say anything else. If he did, I didn't hear it as I was already out the door after putting on my shoes.

Mark's car was parked in front, the window down which let me perfectly see the dazzling smile he threw at me as he waved his hand hello. He gets out of the car soon enough and I take in his appearance; he was wearing some black ripped jeans, a long-sleeved black and white striped shirt that had the sleeves ridden up to his elbows, and some black and white converse.

Meanwhile, I wore some black jeans, a white shirt tucked in, and a blue shirt on top with some black Nike's completing the look

I smile back at him as I come closer until we were right in front of each other.

"You look great," Mark-Hyung says, chuckling soon after as his cheeks become red. I laugh along due to his cuteness.

"You too, Mark-Hyung," I reply.

Soon enough, he goes to the other side of the car, opening the door for me as he usually does before he takes his spot.

"How about we go somewhere before dinner?" He questions, turning his head to look at me. I nod with a smile in response. "Where should we go?"

"How about we just walk around the mall?" I ask and he immediately nods his head, driving off.

We soon arrive and we both get out of the car, Mark-Hyung waiting for me in front of the side I was in. I smile at him and he smiles back, putting his hands in his pant pockets before we walk off and inside the mall.

We begin to explore, up and down, left and right through the mall as if it were our first here which most certainly wasn't. But it felt like it as we walked everywhere, pointing out stores, going in just to end up not buying anything inside. It was most definitely fun and at the moment I felt secure and happy by just having him by my side.

2 hours later, at 7, we decide to leave. We take our seats in the car and the liveliness continues as we have conversations about everything and nothing before arriving a couple of blocks away from the restaurant since we knew there would be no parking available nearby.

We get out and walk. I look to my side to see Mark-Hyung looking a little hesitant with his hands on his sides, opening and closing them. I look back forward and just as I did so I feel something on my hand. I look down at it and up to its owner who was smiling sheepishly at me and though I was nervous and my hands were incredibly sweaty, I took the courage to smile back and intertwine our fingers together before looking back ahead.

"Are you enjoying the date so far?" He asks and I flinch, looking back at him.

So this was actually a date? I ask myself as I felt myself growing red. "Date?" I question stupidly.

He chuckles cutely, using his other hand to ruffle my hair, "Yeah, a date. If that's what you want it to be," he responds, shrugging slightly and I take not even a second to nod at him, tightening the grip on his hand.

Silently, we continue our way to our destination as my mind fills with how incredible today was. Yet, something, or rather someone disturbed the euphoric thoughts I was having.

My smile turns into a frown when I see a figure through a couple of cars going through the road. They were speed-walking in the opposite direction as us on the other side of the road. They wore black jeans and a black hoodie which covered their hair but I was almost 100% sure as to who the figure was.

I stop abruptly, making Mark-Hyung look back at me with confusion written all over his face. "Mark-Hyung. I- I need to go somewhere," I say shortly before letting go of his hand. "Wait for me here! I'll be back! I promise!" I exclaim before running through the street hearing a faint "be careful" due to my very dangerous action.

I continue to run, seeing the figure at least 10ft away from me but I had the determination to catch up with them.

They enter an alleyway and I take it as an opportunity, fastening my pace. I take a sharp turn, still running into the alley, "Lee Jeno" I mumble to the person who was now closer to me than he was a couple of minutes ago.

My theory was confirmed when he turns around, holding onto his abdomen making me gasp at the sight. His lip was busted, his hair which was now showing due to the hood falling was completely messed up, he had a black eye, there was a bruise on his right cheekbone, and a cut on his left eyebrow.

I blink quickly in shock, "Lee Jeno," was all I could muster up.

He looks weak; his lips pale and his eyes fluttering open and close. I could tell he was doing his best to stay awake making me rush toward him. Just in time, he collapses in my arms.
