Madam B watched the soldier train Nova through the glass doors of the ballet room. The girl was showing him how she had improved the knife flip he had taught her. She could now do it with ease and had been able to for a while but since her attempt, they had made her use guns more often than blades.

Winter spoke to her with a blank face, as he did with the others so she could think nothing of it. He was her mentor, after all. Nova seemed to be listening and she usually focused better with him around. It worked out for the Red Room that even with her problems, she could be taught by the best assassin. And she was gradually becoming better and better.

Nova responded to whatever he was saying, nodding with no emotion as usual. She slipped the knife back into her thigh holster, mumbling something with a scoff. Madam B presumed it was about how she had killed Angel. She wasn't bothered because Angel wasn't that great. A part of the woman hoped for her to die on that mission and her prize did the job with ease.

She continued spying the pair, as if something was going to happen between them. It was rather normal for now. Winter handed her an orange tube of pills and she rolled her eyes. She didn't like taking medication. But she did take it, swallowing them down with a sip of water. He then pulled another orange tube out with slightly larger pills in and her eyebrows furrowed.

The Red Room had decided to place Nova on antidepressants: sertraline or Zoloft. The teenager didn't seem to like the new pills in her routine and she hadn't even took the tube from the soldier. She was already taking methylphenidate for her ADHD and she didn't want even more.

Reluctantly, she swallowed the pills next, rolling her eyes in annoyance again. But Madam B straightened up when Winter punched her jokingly in the arm and she smiled over at him, chuckling at whatever he said next.

The woman stalked off to contact HYDRA after she saw The Winter Soldier smile back at the girl. Whatever had happened over time, it needed to be got rid of.

Winter was led down a hallway after being dropped off to his HYDRA base. Two agents were holding onto his arms as they pushed him down the hallway until he was forced to sit down. Alexander Pierce walked into the room, clearly disappointed at something as he stood in front of the soldier.

"Tell me about Nova Black." Pierce ordered and Winter looked up at him, face unmoving of emotion.

"She's an assassin in the Red Room programme." Winter answered simply. "Soon to be Poison Onyx."

"Hm, no. You know more than that. Tell me everything." Pierce repeated.

"That's all I know." Winter lied smoothly, glancing to the machine around him in worry, fearing what could happen next.

Pierce stared at him before straightening his back, knowing he was lying about it. The fake S.H.I.E.L.D. member nodded towards a few of the agents and they flicked a switch. The soldiers arms were then clamped between metal and he was forced backwards in the seat, his breathing getting heavier.

The two plates of the machine sat on his head, one by his temple and the other on his face. He clenched his fists, eyes squeezing shut as a gum shield was pushed into his mouth and he bit down on it, hard. He was uncomfortable and he wanted out of the chair. But what was at the front of his mind was Nova.

Winter knew for a fact after this, she would be forgotten and just another assassin in the Red Room's game. He didn't want to hurt her but he didn't know what could happen if he forgot her. The soldier had raised the girl from a three year old into a fourteen year old and he wasn't pleased to be forgetting everything they'd been through together.

But what choice did he have?

The machine whirred loudly as it prepared to wipe his memory. The soldier gritted his teeth against the gum shield and started to scream loudly, his body tensing in pain and shaking painfully in the metal bindings. Everything was wiped from his brain with the flick of a switch and he didn't get a say in the matter.

After some time, it was over and the metal clamps were removed from him, the chair pushing upwards so he was upright. His chest heaved, eyes flicking around the room before they landed on Pierce who was looking back at him.

His eyes were empty once again.
