A few more months had past and it was now July. As usual, Nova got up, showered, dressed and trained. She went to her lessons, ate breakfast and lunch before she went to the library with Winter, practicing her speech. It was improving significantly but it still wasn't at the expectation of Madam B.

As Nova read, the door to the library swung open and Madam B walked in, body straight abs and presentable. She approached their table and the two both looked to her. After a simple nod from the woman, Winter left the room, glancing quickly at Nova who didn't spare him one, eyes locked on the woman in front of her.

"It's your lucky day." Madam B began and Nova had a feeling it was anything but. "Follow me."

The nine year old was led to an empty room and Madam B stood at the centre. Some more girls filtered into the room, all older than Nova by about five years, some less than that. They all stood in a line and Madam B started to walk up and down the room, watching them all. None of the girls moved, eyes focused on the Russian woman.

"Today, you begin your assessments for your graduation." Madam B said and some of the girls chest puffed out with pride, Nova just picking with the end of her t-shirt. "First assessment will be on your shooting. Your aim will be assessed, your form as well, your posture, your timing. You want to graduate? You must complete all assessments perfectly."

Soon enough, all of the girl were lined up in front of black silhouette targets, points drawn on them with white pen. There were glass panels between the girls, their names written on the tables. And on the tables were ammo and a gun. To complete this assessment, you had to load the gun three times in total, get perfect scores in a perfect time.

Breathing deeply, Nova tapped her foot on the hardwood floor lightly, creating the tune to Killer Queen in her head, which she had memorised from years ago. The starting alarm hadn't blared yet, the girls waiting in anticipation, the silence thick and suffocating them like a plastic bag if you tied one around their head.

A sharp, deep sound blasted form the speakers and Nova sprang into action. Pushing her ammo in and clicking off the safety to her pistol, she shot the target in all of the correct places until there was no bullets left in that round to shoot.

As she clicked out the empty round, the target switched into a clean one, no bullet holes and it fresh pen. Nova pulled back the safety and fired again, the shoulders, chest, head, arms and even the eyes being pierced with her bullets. She repeated this process once more before slamming her empty gun back onto the table, gunshots still ringing out beside her loudly.

Some of the girls had finished already, the older of the group mostly. Others were still shooting, one girl only just pushing in her second round of ammo. Madam B was watching with small eyes, disapproval in them at some of the girls and approval as she looked at others.

Now with nothing to do but wait, Nova started to bite at her fingernails, staring at the floor. More bullets rang out, the clicks of safety's being pulled back on guns until it all went silent. There was a repetitive clicking noise and Nova looked up to see her targets being analysed by some sort of red laser that was reflecting onto it.

On the tables were small, black, blank screens and after about a minute, their percentages came on. They needed over 90% to pass. Nova couldn't help but feel slightly proud as the number 98% flickered on the black screen in red writing. Other girls seemed please, some deflated. Madam B walked down the row of them all and checked over their scores, nodding at some and shaking her head at others.

Once everyone's scores had been checked over, they were sent back to their dorms. Nova plopped down on her bed, looking out of the window. She was nine at the moment and it was November. In just two months she would be 10, on the 20th of January.

She wondered if she would be doing real mission by then. Maybe she would do some with Winter or another one of her friends. Or she could be with one of the girls shooting with her today. It was all unplanned and nerve wracking for the young girl.

The only thing going through her though was, I have to be better
