Nova entered a house, stepping over shattered glass, Jenny close behind her. Guns were in both of their hands, their suits on. Yet again, they were on a mission. Supposedly, someone was living in an abandoned house to hide away from Dreykov. Obviously, they were found.

Walking up the stairs, Nova made sure to stay quiet, Jenny the same. Once upstairs, they split up. Nova checked the bathroom, pulling back the ripped shower curtain but no one was in there. In the next room, she checked under the old withered bed and then in the broken wardrobes. No one in those rooms either.

A yell came from a room beside her and her head shot up, leaving the bedroom she was in and going to the next one. Jenny was stood in the centre of the nearly empty bedroom, holding a gun to a man's head. The mission was to shoot him but she wasn't doing anything while he sat with shaking hands.

"What're you doing, love?" Nova asked quietly when she saw tears beading at Jenny's water-line.

"I want a happy ending." Jenny mumbled, gulping as she held the gun still. "I won't this way."

"Shit." Nova muttered, whacking the man across the face with the barrel of her gun when he tried to shuffle away.

Probably not the time for a mental breakdown, Nova thought.

"I'll do it." Nova stated and Jenny lowered her gun quickly, swallowing thickly.

"Okay." The brown-eyed girl nodded and Nova quickly shot the man, his body slumping and the set of broken drawers splattered with his blood.

"What's wrong?" Nova questioned, not completely comfortable with dealing with feelings.

"I want out." Jenny responded, storming past her and downstairs.

"You want out? Of the Red Room?" Nova asked, understanding her reasoning.

"Yeah. And now." Jenny breathed, shoving her gun into its thigh holster. "It won't happen but I want out."

"It'll happen." Nova muttered, thinking impulsively and stupidly. "Jump on the counter, babes."

"What?" Jenny quizzed with a chuckle.

"The counter. Hop on it." Nova ordered, pulling out a knife and Jenny listened to her, sitting on the counter. "Sorry for this."

Jenny was about to ask 'what' but Nova stabbed her in the top of her thigh and she groaned in pain at the sudden cut. With apologetic eyes, Nova dragged the knife a little down until she spotted a green light flickering. Digging her fingers in, Jenny cried out as Nova pulled her tracker out of her leg.

"No warning?" Jenny asked, breathing a little heavier.

"You wanted me to say, 'Oh, love, I'm gonna stab you in the leg. Get on the counter'?" Nova asked.

"No." Jenny giggled.

"Exactly. I'm smart." Nova smiled before stomping on the tracker. "Go."

"Like that?" Jenny asked, eyeing the door with longing.

"Yeah, like that. No more trackers on your now. Go." Nova grinned.

"What about you?" Jenny questioned, hopping down from the counter. "You-you'll be stuck with them."

"I'll be okay." Nova assured. "Go."

"I feel guilty." Jenny said, eyebrows pinched in worry.

"I'm telling you to go." Nova chuckled. "Before they get here, you need to fuck off."

"Yeah, I do." Jenny nodded, teary eyed. "I'll find you when you get out."

"I'm sure you will." Nova smiled and Jenny quickly kissed her softly. "Piss off, Jen."

"Okay." Jenny grinned, kissing her once more before she was out of the door, Nova watching after her with a smile.

-

"You let her get away!"

Nova's head whipped to the side as Dreykov backhanded her. The Russian man was furious that she'd let Jenny get away, thinking it was a mistake and not knowing it was on purpose. Winter was stood in the corner like always, looking at Nova with knowing eyes.

"Where did she go?" Dreykov demanded.

"I don't know. I was eliminating the target and she fled." Nova lied smoothly, voice firm and flat.

"And you didn't think about keeping an eye on her? Hey?" Dreykov sneered.

"She told me that she was making sure no one else was with the target." Nova answered. "I trusted my gut. My gut was wrong."

"You need to make sure you listen to everything." Dreykov snapped, slapping her the the back of his hand again and his ring scraped her cheek painfully, a small droplet of blood appearing. "It doesn't matter now. She will die before next week. She knows nothing but inside the Red Room. She'll die."

Nova thought to herself about that. No, Jenny would have no money or a family but she would have initiative. From their training, she could easily steal, kill and hunt. She still had her guns and knives after all.

"Nova," Dreykov started. "Come here."

Walking closer to the man who had gone to his desk in rage, Nova stood stiffly, waiting for a third backhand. Instead, Dreykov grabbed her wrist and twisted her arm so her Pam face upwards. Taking her knife from her suit, Dreykov slashed down her wrist vertically, ripping her suit, too.

Blood started to pool in the wound as Dreykov held the bloody knife. He dropped Nova's hand and a small puddle of dripping crimson landed on the floor by her boots. Placing the blade under her chin threateningly, Dreykov scowled at the bleeding teenager.

"You're pathetic for making this mistake, Nova." Dreykov spat. "Your training from now on will be harsher and you slip up once, we cut you. Not just backhands, we draw blood until you possibly bleed out. Or, we leave you in the last room for weeks with barley enough food to live."

Nodding silently, Nova left the room when Dreykov ordered her to do so. Walking down the hallway, she sped to her dorm where she immediately opened a draw. Shoving Peach out of the way, Nova grabbed her medical supplies and prepared them all, pulling down the top half of her suit, her sport bra showing.

"You let her go." Winter stated, standing at the door, watching her start to clean the cut on her arm.

"I had to." Nova responded, grimacing when alcohol seeped into the wound. "She wanted out."

"Why didn't you leave, too?" Winter asked, moving over to help her with it.

"You'd be alone." Nova replied, gritting her teeth as she cleaned around the gash. "Plus, you'd miss me too much."

"Sure." Winter remarked sarcastically and she smiled slightly. "C'mon, let me help."
