"Yes." He nodded, wiping down her forehead.
"A lot?" She questioned, swallowing thickly.
"Yes." He repeated. "What are you thinking?"
"W-whether to do it or not." She sniffle...

"No, it's not good!"
"Shut up, you just don't have taste."
"But it doesn't even make sense! What, he goes to a hotel and then kills his family for no apparent reason?!"
"No, he goes to a hotel and tries, he doesn't actually, to kill his family because of the hotel and what it does to him!"
Ashley rolled her eyes with a laugh, "You're ridiculous, like this film."
"Don't say shit about The Shining when you happily sit and watch fucking soap operas." Nova grumbled, dramatically flopping on leg over the other, the pair of women lying on her bed, watching a film together on the tv Nova stole.
"They're filled with drama that makes sense," as Ashley said that, Nova snorted, "unlike this."
"I can't sit through this with you talking utter shit in my ear. I'll watch it without you." Nova sulked and turned the tv off as Ashley laughed at her expression again, watching as Nova got up and went to a record player, which was one of the first things she bought, which also probably wasn't practical when you have little to no money, but, hey, vinyls are sexy.
"No heavy metal." Ashley ordered, propping herself up on her elbow.
Nova glared at her over her shoulder playfully, but also offended, "I can't believe I've ever spoken to you. Ever. Like, ever."
"Just pick something else! You have options! That's all me and your work friend got you for your birthday!" Ashley called out. "And that Queen one came from someone else. I don't know who. Who?"
"My friend, Jenny. She sent it to me." Nova answered as she grabbed a David Bowie record, Hunky Dory, and placed it on the player, the needle starting the music loudly in her room.
"You don't see each other?" Ashley questioned.
"Not a lot." Nova shrugged, flopping down beside Ashley who stared at her with a soft grin. "Hm, what? You're being really creepy."
"You're really beautiful." Ashley complimented making Nova laugh.
Nova went to speak, going to deny it with a joke fuelled by self-hatred, but Ashley stopped her from speaking, the blonde's lips suddenly on hers. When Nova didn't kiss back, more from shock than anything else, Ashley moved a hand to her hair, curling her fingers into her locks as if to keep her head there.
