About Two Months Later - March 2021.

She's fucking shaking answering the attorney's questions and I want to punch every man who has insinuated something offensive about Adelaide today. I'm not a violent person by any means, but Addy has survived enough of this and I am done with Noah's team making her feel like this. She should be able to move on, and get through this with some level of respect shown to her.

It's been two months since the break in. I'm glad we stayed in London, enjoyed the rest of the holidays, Jeff took care of things in the States, but I sometimes wish I could have flown back myself to find Noah and kill him.

I take a breath.

"Ms. Young, would you say you appreciated the amount of money Noah and his family spent on you?" The attorney asks. What a fucking crock of a question.

"I didn't mind either way, I never was with Noah for his money." She responds as cooly as possible. I'm the only one who notices her shaking I think.

The fact that they think they can get Noah off of a breaking and entering charge by making it look like Adelaide was with him for money is dumb. Literally so dumb, but Noah's family can afford the best assholes in the Greater Philly area, so here we are sitting in this private office allowing them to take Adelaide's deposition.

"Come on Ms. Young, we saw your apartment. There isn't much there to have been stolen in the first place."

Oh fuck o-

"Objection!" Addy's lawyer finally shouts.

I grab Adelaide's hand underneath the table to steady her, running my thumb across the inside of her palm gently. Luckily things got to remain private, nothing in front of a huge jury or anything - that would tarnish Noah's father's name, which just means I get to be here with Addy for support.

"Mr. Halper, unless you have any more real questions for my client may I suggest-"

"No, further questions. Thank you Ms. Young, you're free to go."

Addy exhales and squeezes my hand back, squeezing her eyes shut. We let Noah and his entire team leave the room, and I work to make sure that Adelaide looks only at me. I insisted that Noah not be here, but his team is just too good and Addy refuses my help in hiring a stronger lawyer.

"Let's go love yeah?" I whisper into her ear, kissing her temple. I grab her purse from the ground next to her and pick us both up to leave.

When she looks over at me, her smile doesn't touch her eyes. In fact, upon closer observation, I can see the tears building in the corners of her eyes and I know I have to get her out of there, fast. She would never want to have anyone see her cry.

I pull her up by her hand, keeping her purse in my grip, and lead her out of the room with one arm around her shoulders, allowing her to tuck her face into me.

"It's ok, Addy, hold on." I whisper, knowing that she's about to lose it. I keep my lips against her head, holding her as close as possible to me. Wishing that this simple position could protect her from the world.

Eventually I find the women's loo and burst through the door, not caring about who may already be inside. Lucky for us both the entire place is unoccupied so I lock the door behind us and turn quickly to bring Adelaide into a strong embrace.

She completely breaks down.

"H-how..." She begins.

"Darling don't, just let it out. It's ok. It's all going to be ok."

"How- why was he in there? I thought they said we could have the restraining order granted? I - Harry, what am I going to do?!" She practically shouts shaking her head back and forth, she's shaking within my grip and it's taking everything in me not to turn around and find Noah myself for doing this to her.
