Chapter 28

JENNIE'S POV

We're already at the place of the witness, we're about to knock on her door when phone rings.

It was Lisa's mom calling, I immediately answered it.

"Hello mom?"

I got alerted when there were screaming on the background, it's Lisa.

"J-ennie honey? Come q-quick here at the hospital. Lisa's gone mad, sh— Lisa!"

"I'm coming right away mom." I hung up the phone and looked at Taehyung who's looking at her too. "Tae, I'm going back to the hospital. Lisa... she woke up."

Taehyung nodded, "Should I go or should I wait for you?"

"Let's do this together, maybe tomorrow. Lisa needs me now." I said.

We entered our own cars and drove to the hospital. I ran to Lisa's room and saw how messy inside is. The bed's blankets are all on the floor, the curtains are removed, and her mom is just in the corner scared.

"Mom," I called Lisa's mom, she saw me and ran to me.

"She got furious, upset, mad when she realized she lost the baby."

Lisa was lying down the messy bed curled up, crying her heart it. I completely understand her, she's in pain.

"Ms. Kim." A doctor came, "I suggest you to be with her for now. She's in shock and what she needs now is her family. And it's better to leave them for now."

Mom, Taehyung and the doctor went out the room leaving me.

"Love," I walked to Lisa and slowly lay down beside her, I can hear her sobbing and eventually found myself tearing up too.

"Jen-jennie... I- it's not true right?" She asks facing me.I hugged her, letting her bury her face on my chest. "No... It's not true. It's not."

I kissed her head, "I'm sorry love. I'm very sorry."

She burst into tears and cried loudly.

"M-my baby... Jennie, our baby." She cries dampening my shirt which I don't care. "It's my fault, it's my fault, Jennie it's my fault. I'm sorry."

"Sshh, my love. It's not your fault." I tried shushing her but she kept saying it's her fault like a mantra.

"NO! IT'S MY FAULT! I'm sorry Jennie, I'm sorry baby, it's my fau—"

I kissed her lips in the most tender way, shutting her up as she melts on my kiss. She sobs and hugs me.

"Love, it's not your fault. We'll find who did this to you. We will make her pay." I said and kept on kissing her head while I play with her hair.

And later on, I hear her peaceful snores.

"Discharge her please, she'll continue her treatment at home with us." I told the doctor as soon as went out Lisa's room.

After a while, I processed Lisa's discharge papers. Mom came pushing Lisa who is in a wheelchair. She looked very blue. She never talked at all. She was staring at nothing.

"It's okay Ms. Kim, she's just in shock. Just accompany her everytime, she needs someone to lean on to recover." The doctor said.

I walked and kneeled to level Lisa's level and caressed her hair and smiled. "We're going home, okay? We're going to see Ella and Harvey."

She just looked at me with no emotion and then looked away.

I have already seen our baby that didn't make it. Taehyung buried baby with the others. The doctor said it's better to bury it and not let Lisa see it.

"Let's go." I said and pushed Lisa's wheelchair going to the parking lot where Taehyung is waiting. He opened my car door as I put Lisa in the backseat careful while mom went to sit beside her. I thanked Taehyung and he left while I went inside my car and drive home too.

When we reached home, Lisa was still unresponsive to us. Even to he kids. This made the kids sad, but I told them that their mommy is just tired and needs rest.

I went straight to our bedroom and carried her to our bed, I tuck her in the blanket as she covers herself completely from head to to.

I pulled down the blanket just in her neck and kissed her forehead before I went out to the living room where Felix is pacing back and forth.

He saw me, and we sat down the couch, "Jennie noona, I don't want to assume but what if... what if your mom has something to do with this?" Felix raised both his hand mid air, "Don't get me wrong alright, but we all know how your mom hates my sister. We don't know what's running inside her head."

To be honest, I also thought the same,.

"Don't worry Felix, I'm going to mom to talk to her about this. I will make sure she'll pay, even tho she's my mother." I said and he nods his head.

I left the house and drove to mom. When I reached the mansion, I saw an unfamiliar car parked on the driveway. I didn't mind it and entered the house which the maids greeted me.

"Mom." I called mom as soon as I reached the living room where I saw Krystal and Mrs. Lee having tea with mom.

"Oh? Jennie, you're home! Finally, Lisa let go of you." She said like she doesn't know anything.

"I wanna talk to you." I said sternly which she furrows her eyebrows at me.

"Okay then talk." She said, but I want it to be private.

"Privately mom." But she shook her head and crossed her arms. "We will talk here Jennie."

Mrs. Lee and Krystal were just eyeing us.

"Okay, if that's what you want then okay. What did you do to Lisa?" I asked straightforward.

She tilts her head with a confused face, "Lisa? What do you mean I did?"

"You didn't know she's in the hospital?" She shakes her head no. "Stop pretending like you don't know mom."

"Jennie, I really don't know what you're talking about. Care to explain?" A part of me believes she doesn't have something to do with Lisa.

"She almost died." I said, she gave me a blank look, "someone poisoned her."

"Ohh... I'm sorry about that Jennie but really, I don't know anything about this.." she stops and looks at me, "are you really accusing me?"

"I mean you almost killed her before how much now that I'm gonna marry her again? Isn't that what you want? To ruin us both? And you setting me up with her?" I said pointing at Krystal.

"Jennie, I admit, I did that before giving her some nuts but I changed. Killing Lisa? That never crossed my mind again."

I nodded, "And did you know Lisa was pregnant?"

She was shock, "She's pregnant? I bet it's from one of her boy frie—"

"Mom!" I shouted cutting her off, I shook my head in disappointment.  "It was mine mom. It was my baby mom! Me and Lisa's child."

Her eyebrows knitted, "What do you mean 'was'? What happened to the baby? What happened to my grandchild?"

I took a deep breath, "The baby is gone mom. The baby was poisoned inside Lisa. They were poisoned by someone and once I find that person, I will kill her!" I said clenching my fist.

"Nooo, my grandchild." Mom was crying. "That was inhumane, whoever did that doesn't deserve to live. Oh my god, I admit, I hate Lisa but I wouldn't dare make a bold move when she's carrying a Kim."

I left the house, and went home to Lisa. I hurried because I know by now, she's already awake and might be looking for me.

She needs me. And I need to bw strong for her, for our family.
