CHAPTER 15

Zen wasn't planning to stay for long. He just wanted to make sure that Channel was okay and he will go, but just when he was about to leave, a hand stopped him from leaving.

"Z-zen...." Channel called his name, but it sounded like a whisper.

"Gising ka na! Hold on! I'll call the doctor's to check on you!" He was about to run and call for the medical staff to check on Channel's condition, but the hold of the woman just tightened.

"D--don't go." Paos pa ang boses nito at halata na pinipilit lamang nito na magsalita.

He caressed her hand using his free hand. "Ilang araw kang walang malay. Kailangan matignan ka nila." 

"P---please."

And Zen didn't have the heart to say no to the weak woman in front of him.

He sat beside Channel's bed and caressed her cheeks. She looks so fragile. But she doesn't look weak in his eyes. After what happened to Channel, he adored her for being a strong woman. So much like his Aika. 

Nakatitig lamang ito sa kaniya at hindi nagsasalita. He should look away, but he couldn't take his eyes off of her. He knew she wasn't his wife, but at that moment, he wanted to take care of her like he would take care of Aika. Mas lalo siyang naguguluhan sa inaasta niya kapag malapit sa kaniya ang dalaga.

"What happened to you? May masakit pa ba sa iyo?" Tanong niya sa dalaga.

Channel only shook her head and tried to smile at him. 

Zen was even more confused now. Her face not only reminds him of Aika but also the way she acts. Even though she wasn't okay, Aika used to smile at him too. Same face, the same habit of smiling when they're not okay.

Then he remembered mentioning Aika earlier. Narinig kaya ito ng dalaga?

Gusto niyang itanong dito kung narinig ba nito ang sinabi niya na kamukha ito ni Aika pero mukhang wala naman itong alam. Hindi ito nagtatanong sa kaniya ng kahit na ano. She even asked him to stay.

"May gusto ka bang kainin?" Tanong niya sa dalaga.

Channel just shook her head again. Hindi nito inaalis ang mga tingin sa kaniya. Hindi niya alam kung ano ang tumatakbo sa isip ng dalaga sa mga oras na ito.

Hindi niya ito maiwan hindi lang dahil sa gusto nito na manatili siya kung hindi dahil na din sa gusto niya pa itong makita. She makes him confused all the time, but she can also make him feel at ease. Marahil ay dahil nakikita niya dito ang asawa niya.

CHANNEL couldn't take her eyes off Zen. She was trying to memorize his face. She couldn't remember what happened to her, but she didn't ask him any questions.
