Don't you understand? I'm a wanted man

Chapter six, breakfast

      

       Some songs you should listen to are "arms tonite" by mother mother, "can't stop" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, and "cigarettes and feelings" by the haunt. Honestly most of the songs I pick don't really go along with the story lol. They're just some songs I like and think either match mando's vibe or songs I think he'd like. Any road, hope you enjoy the chapter.

You wake up, bolting up and immediately regret it. You grab your pounding head and let out a groan.

"You should be laying down"

You look up to see Mando sitting next to you with his hand placed gently on your back. You look around and see you're in his ship. Feeling dizzy, you let Mando guide you back into a laying position. You go to stretch your body, to try and relieve some tension from your body, but when you do, all you feel is a blinding pain. You gasp as you grab your leg, desperate to stop the pain. You feel hot tears sting your eyes, causing you to shut them tight, in an attempt to try your best to push them away.

"Y/n..." you hear a low voice as you open your eyes to look at him. He grabs something from his medkit and speaks again. "let me give you some pain killers. If you give me your arm, they can help within minutes."

You gingerly reach out your arm for the mandalorian and turn away shutting your eyes. Your hand tightens into a fist, turning your knuckles white. Mando gently grabs your hand and says "it's ok, you're doing great. I promise it'll be as quick and painless as possible." He lets go and you hear him grab the pain killers and feel him hold your arm. "Ok, I'm doing it now."

You feel a sharp pinch and a moment later you feel Mando putting a Bandaid on your arm. You open your eyes and look at it timidly. You see Mando tilt his head slightly as he says, "you did amazing. I hope I didn't hurt you."

"Y-you didn't. Thank you"

He nods and stands up, "It's late, you should get some rest. Call if you need anything."

You smile softly at him as your eyes start to feel heavy and eventually close.

You wake up to the sound of soft humming and the smell of cooking food. You sit up and take in the nice smell of breakfast. You start to smile as you see Mando in the little small makeshift kitchen. He's flipping some eggs while humming softly and his hips slightly sway to the beat. Damn, he's cute. You think, and then you recognize the song and without thinking, you sing along. Mando stops what he's doing and stands up straight, his body going stiff and rigid.

"Oh, I'm sorry!" You stutter out, feeling a fool for embarrassing yourself and him like that. And ruining the little moment.

"Don't be..You sounded good, you do the song much better than I do." He turns towards you after putting the eggs on a plate already filled with toast and some cut fruit. He grabs a cup, which looked like it had tea, and walked over to you. He carefully sets it down on the table next to you and goes back to grab a second plate and cup. He sits down in a seat on the other side of the small table and sets his food down.

"Thank you! It's looks so good. Here, I'll turn around so you can eat." You start to shift your body, when you feel a hand on your shoulder.

"Please, don't. You can sit normally."

"But no one can see you without a helmet on."

Mando shifts his body slightly, "I'm not taking my helmet off," he grabs his fork and lifts his helmet enough for him to be able to take a bite. "See?"

You blush, feeling embarrassed. That and seeing the lower part of his face, his stubble, plus his lips... you snap out of it, "oh, yeah." You say, feeling dumb. Unsure of what else to do, you pick up your fork and start eating. It was really good, so you can't help but let out an "mmm". Out of the corner of your eye, you saw a small smile on mando's lips. You blush again, trying to ignore the butterflies in your chest.

After awhile, you both finish eating. Mando stands up and grabs the plates. You look up at him and smile slightly, "thanks for breakfast"

He nods and heads off to the kitchen to drop off the dishes. On his way back, he says "Oh, y/n?"

"Yeah?"

"About your injury, you should be fine in a week or so. But until then, I don't want you left alone in case you get hurt again or need help. So if you want, you can stay here with me or I can bring you to someone else."

"Staying with you would be fine," you smile up at him. "Thanks for taking care of me.. um could you tell me what happened after I blacked out?"

Mando sits back in his seat and nods, "the local enforcers were able to wipe out the majority of the gang, leaving only some unimportant members. But with the leader and most of the high ranked members gone, the gang has disappeared. We have a meeting with Castler to receive our pay tomorrow."

       "What are you gonna do, once you're paid?"

       Mando leans back and sighs, "I'm not sure yet. I'll stay here on Curtlias til you're healed then I'll head of to Tattione to follow some potential jobs."

You nod, feeling a little crushed that you'd only see him for a week or so before he wasn't a part of your life again. You'd grown attached to him and that scared you.
