deraxes are tall yet robust hyraxes that are the dominant herbivores of the supercontinent they reside on. with no predators to worry about and no real competition to care about, these hyraxes roam everywhere in the continent besides the trees. they weigh about 30 pounds, and this is the basal state that all other rock hyraxes will evolve from. (ill call the rock hyrax clade, "Lithohyracoidea")

approxamately 3.5 milllion years later, a quite notable lithohyracoid has evolved. it seems to have developed a small, yet flexible trunk and larger tusks. this lithohyracoid is called a tryrax. they weigh about 80 pounds, and they rely on high quality food to mainain their high intelligence.

from the tree hyrax clade (ill call this clade "Allohyracoidea"), one herbivorous grouping emerged

from the tree hyrax clade (ill call this clade "Allohyracoidea"), one herbivorous grouping emerged. tree hyraxes already were able to 'bounce' short distances on land, and this group took that ability to the extreme. they weigh up to 45 pounds.

with an almost rabbit-like appearance, this is the lepyrax. (Clade lagohyraxia)

another group of lithohyracoid had a different plan for herbivory

another group of lithohyracoid had a different plan for herbivory. instead of having 2 seperate incisors like the rest of its clade, they got closer together to form a dental structure similar to a rodent. this gives these creatures access to tougher foods that other hyraxes wouldn't be able to chew up. this clade is called euhyracoglires. (the eu- at the beginning is to make a pun on "euarchontoglires" but it doesn't really ruin the meaning of the name i swear) this species, the glirax, can come in various shades of brown and can be up to 75 pounds.
