The ice age has seen a noticeable decline in most clades, but the histricoailuroidea seems to be doing better than ever due to not only their general hard to kill nature, but the larger predator niches being opened up.
This is the hystrager. A large, 100 pound histricoailuroid which lives in the warmer parts of the now frozen world. They are easily able to fight off predators from their kills with their spikes and claws, and they still have the same adapable, generalist lifestyle of their ancestors. They're protected by a layer of thick fur, and along with their other traits, this makes them near impossible to kill.
