While Euhyrailurians took a more felid-like route, Eucynohyraxians decided to have paws that were more like hooves, with their feet being partially fused to increase running efficiency. (Since hyragales arent eucynohyraxians, instead being a sister clade, this doesnt apply to them.) They developed this hoof like body structure simply because their prey were evolving to be faster too, leading to an evolutionary arms race.
There are 2 clades within this group, the more wolf-like cyoniformes and the fox like bassariformes.
