Chapter Twenty

His Nicotine 

~Aurora~

After sitting through the King's speech and smacking this dude's hands off me for the millionth time, I looked forward at the royal table and saw Axel's eyes were still on me, with furry dancing in them. 

"I do have one last announcement," the Kings said turning to Axel

"I have decided to step down from my throne. My older son, Axel will be crowned King of our county in June. May he serve and take his duties with great leadership and love." He said making a toast. 

The King waited for Axel to toast back but he was just staring at me as if he moved his eyes away, I would disappear.  I mean that is my plan, this party is getting a bit boring for me. Aiden had to nudge him, then he turned to his father and raise his glass. Immediately everyone stood up from their seats and started cheering. 

Taking it as my opportunity I sneaked through the crowd and made my way to the exit. Taking my time, I walked along the hall taking a looking around. After a while, I heard footsteps running towards me. Ignoring it, I just continue walking until I reached the entrance hall. 

"RORA!" someone yelled. 

Turning in the direction of the voice, I saw Axel coming my way with his suit jacket in his hands and the other in his pocket. 

"What?" I asked tiredly. 

Coming closer to me, he took the jacket and placed it on my shoulders, "I'm sorry I overreacted."

"Why?..." I asked removing the jacket from my shoulders 

"I- I don't know okay. Seeing you dressed like that and knowing those sick fuckers were staring at you. It just made me feel possessive." He admitted. 

"Here," He said taking the jacket from me and covering my shoulders again, "Cover-up."

"No," I said taking it off me and staring at him as if he was dumb. 

"Why not?"

"Because Axel this," I point at the both of us, " Has to stop. One minute you're being nice and thoughtful then you switch up and you're back to being cold and heartless. Just get back to your party, I'm handling myself,"

"Look I'm sorry but all this got me feeling confused," He said trying to hold my hand.

Pulling away I shoved his jacket into his hand and said, "Then keep your confusion to yourself. I don't really have time for all this, but what I do know is that we... are not a thing. So you just do you" I said opening the door, leaving him standing there. 

Walking along the rocky pathway, I made my way to the limo when I heard his footsteps coming towards me again. Walking faster, just as I was opening the door, he slammed it shut and spun me around. 

I looked at him in shock as I stared into his stormy eyes. My eyes fell on his lips, I saw the way he had them parted as he was breathing hard. He licked them in frustration, then I stopped myself and searched for his eyes again. 

"I may not know what I'm feeling but I do know I want you," He said before smashing his lips on mine. 

Of course, my dumbass responded to it. Kissing him back I placed my hand on his face bringing him closer to me, while he pull my waist and held me tightly. I don't know how an argument led to this but I was starting to feel hot. My body needs him, I needed all of him. 

Taking a step back I broke the kiss and looked at him "Axel, we can't"

"We could." He said before kissing me again leaning us against the limo.
