-Nico's POV-

Middle school is probably the most vicious place on earth.

The school's graduation dance is coming up soon, and it's driving me crazy.

Girls are squealing at the corridors, while jocks tried their best to impress all da ladies.

There's this really popular and pretty girl, Y/N, who was every guy's dream girl.

And there's this popular jock, Tom Stone, who was every girl's dream guy.

It was rumored that they were going together, obviously going to be crowned the cutest couple.

I was minding my own business when Stone himself showed up with his 2 cronies.

"Well, well, well. If it isn't little scary pants," he drawled, "Look at him! No wonder people's been avoiding him!"

I know I wasn't exactly a happy, fun person, but the words people say still hurt.

"Leave me alone," I said, trying to stand up to him, "Or just cook a goose or something."

His pack howled with laughter. One of them kicked me in the shin, causing me to buckle over.

Even though I really, really want to, Chiron said I shouldn't hurt mortals with my powers, it's just wrong. And I'm not a twisted, delusional person.

"Who're you taking to the dance, weirdo?" Stone laughed, "Maybe one of your stuffed zombies would want to take you."

I held my ground, my back pressed against the locker, "Oh yea? Please, even a rat would run away from your ugly face."

Stone's face turned red, "Meh, you're just jealous I'm going with Y/N. I asked her and she said yes."

My heart dropped. She... said yes?

I mean, I knew that Stone and Y/N are... well, sort of expected to go together. But I've always had hope she would say no and come with me.

I couldn't answer Stone, and just ended up being punched in the gut.

I fell down backwards, Stone's friend's guffawing in the background as they took turns aiming kicks at me.

"OI!" someone yelled, "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!"

We turned to see Y/N shouting and marching towards us, looking furious.

She walked right up to Stone and slapped his face, "You... you foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach!"

Stone touch the spot where his cheek was bright red, "I... um, hello Y/N."

"Leave him alone, and no one gets hurt." Y/N said angrily.

Stone scoffed, "He's being a prick. Says he's going with you even when I am."

Y/N looked disgusted, "Excuse me, when did I ever said I was going with you? You didn't even ask!!"

"I... erm, well-"

Y/N scowled, nose in the air, "Leave." she said.

They ran down the corridor.

Y/N knelt down beside me. I didn't even realized I was crying out of pain.

She cupped my face in her hands and wiped my tears with her thumb.

This was so embarrassing. My crush is literally witnessing me cry and getting bullied.

She pulled me in her arms.

I couldn't take it anymore, I broke down sobbing.

I hated it. I hated being bullied only because of how I look and act. It wasn't fair.

Y/N rubbed my back comfortingly, placing soft kisses in my hair once in a while, sending butterflies in my stomach.

When we broke apart, she smiled sadly at me, "So... you got a date yet?"

I shook my head "no".

"Funny," she said, "Because I have the impression that you were going with me?"

I locked eyes with her. It surprised me that I saw hope and love in her eyes. 

"I... will you? Please?" I asked, "I mean- I really like you, and-"

Y/N pecked my lips, the kiss lasting for barely 3 seconds, "Love you too, Neeks."

I blushed, "T-thank you."

She raised an eyebrow, "For?"

"The kiss..." yea, way to go Nico.

Y/N laughed. I got a feeling like this was the beginning of something special.

Shhh.... did you hear that?

It's the sound of wonderful, happy fangirl hearts.

Ah yes, screaming and punches in the air. Very nice.
