- third person's POV -
Nico had been a super sweet boyfriend to you. You laughed, you cried, and you fought together. It had been months since you guys had been going out, and you decided to do something special for him on your one-year anniversary.
You asked Leo to build you guys a projector (with payment, obviously) and bought a bunch of blankets and pillows to make a fort just so you two could snuggle together underneath the sheets while watching your favorite movie - F/M
You had everything set up and ready in his apartment, smiling to yourself as you fantasized about the movie night date that you had planned for each other. Meanwhile, Nico had other ideas...
Nico had been going all over the city, from the fanciest jewelry stores in town to the little cute stalls that sell friendship bracelets, and even to his own dad for the best diamonds. He wanted to get you a promise ring, giggling to himself when he found the perfect one that he thought you would like.
He even brought it to have your initials engraved together and placed it carefully into a pretty box with one word, and one word only - "promise".
Fast forward to that night, Nico was in tears when he saw the effort that you made to surprise him. He scooped you up and began attacking you with kisses and cuddles as you fell on the bed, laughing.
The date went on great, with Nico still holding onto the ring in his pocket. Little did you know, there was something that was holding him back from giving it to you...
- Nico's POV -
Nico sighed as he let you lay your head on his chest, using his gentle hands to stroke and play with your hair. He occasionally gave you little forehead kisses as you cuddled with the blanket fort covering you.
As you were laughing at a funny scene in the movie, Nico's heart ached with love. He stroked your cheek and let a single tear fall off his.
"How could she love me this much?" Nico thought to himself, "How could this sweet angel love a cruel person like me...?"
Nico's phone rang, notifying him that his one-year bet of dating you was over.
