{Ayah}

When I wake up on New Years morning, my phone is still propped up on my old nightstand and Theo is snoring on the screen.

I take a moment to just sit there and look at him.

He even looks serious in his sleep.

"Theo, wake up."
I sing, kicking aside the blankets.

He comes to life slowly, stretching like a cat.

"Good morning, you handsome fool."
I giggle, making my way to the bathroom.

"Yeah yeah, good morning. Happy New Years, my love."
He rasps, rolling over.

A shiver shoots down my spine.

His morning voice is so sexy.

"There will be none of that grumpy behavior starting off this new year. Get up and brush your teeth with me."
I instruct.

He sighs loudly, watching me pick up my toothbrush.

"Yes ma'am."

"Good boy."
I praise, watching his roll out of bed.

He grabs his phone and glares.

"I'm not a damn dog, don't say that shit to me."
He growls.

"Yes sir."
I bat my eyelashes.

He smirks.

"Now that I like."

I laugh, rubbing my eyes.

"Hilarious."
I say.

He yawns, picking up his toothbrush.

"I'm not going to lie, this is pretty weird. I haven't seen you in 3 days and this isn't making it any better, I miss you."
He rolls his eyes.

I can't help but smile.

"I miss you too and I'll have 3 kisses to make up for lost time next time I see you."
I reassure him.

"Nah, I want more than that. How about you spend the night over here...for a whole week?"
He thinks about it.

I bite my lip.

Before I can say anything else though, he groans.

"Hold on, Mason wants to talk to you. But we're not finished talking."
He mutters.

"Okay, baby."
I smile.

"Ayah, tell me why Eric Summers and his girl broke up and you'll never guess why! She cheated on him with Dane Cook from the coffee shop."
Mason starts gossiping immediately.

It just makes me a little homesick.

Aww, I guess I do sort of enjoy my life at the moment.

I smile the minute he opens the door.

"Hi."
I whisper, hugging him closely.

"Wow, um...Hi, Ayah. Aww, I knew you missed me."
He teases quietly, patting my back.

"Of course I did. I got you something from a gift shop."
I grin, holding up the little snow globe with a tiny man in a cowboy hat in the middle.
