"Quit playing and hold it for me."
I snicker to myself and reluctantly lean against the punching back while my friend Mason punches it.
So far my new job is going pretty great. Definitely better than my last job way back in high school as a cashier at McDonalds.
Ugh, what a terrible time in my life."Dude, I can't believe it. We always talked about living together."
I groan, trying to contain the smile on my face as I remember the old times. He's still as carefree and nonchalant about everything as he's always been. I don't know, I always thought that he would definitely change after college.
Definitely not.
He is oblivious to my amazement over it.
He pauses.
"I know, right. You remember the batcaves we use to make out of tents in your living room? We can do that but like...for a whole suite. Ooh, that just sounds fancy."
"You're an idiot."
I snicker, turning when Mr. Franks nods towards the door, my cue that it's time to close up shop.Time sure has been flying by and I'm not complaining about it at all.
I've grown accustomed to not checking my watch every 5 seconds.
"Ugh. Another day another dollar."
I mutter, reluctantly starting to rearrange all of the weights.Thank God I got a job at a small local gym and not a full fledged Planet Fitness.
So far everybody who comes in here are pretty cool.
This whole building is pretty cool, apparently Mr. Frank has a boxing ring downstairs that he opens up for the public every Wednesday evening.
I can't wait to see my first match.
I've always liked boxing, me and my old man used to sit around the tv for hours watching WWE.
We knew that it was fake but we enjoyed it anyway. I did, anyway.
As it turns out, my old man lied about liking a lot of things.
Mason snickers and takes a seat as Mr. Franks flips the sign to closed on his way out.
"Remember to lock up, Ringer."
He growls without a second glance.I can't help but grin.
The old man reminds me so much of my dad. I've learned to live with some things a long time ago.
"Wow. 3rd day here and you already get to lock up."
Mason teases."Oh, shut up. It's because I'm trustworthy and responsible."
I say, tossing a towel over my shoulder. He scoffs.
"Yeah right. Didn't you go to 3 different alternative schools in high school?"
"He doesn't need to know all of that. As far as I'm concerned, the army wiped my slate clean, kid."
I dismiss it with a shrug.

Romance"Ayah, this is my roommate, Theo." I smile politely at the scowling man, not making a move to shake his hand like I usually do when I meet a friend of Mason. He looks like he'd rip my arm off even if his arms weren't full. "Ah, so this is the little...
