Mason is screaming in my face and I'm trying my hardest not to get mad because this is my fault.
"Are you serious right now?"
His face is already red.
Aw man, he is royally pissed.
"Look, I know I should have said something but-"
"But what, Theo? How could you do this to me, I don't believe this. What happened to telling each other everything?"
He pauses for a moment, taking a large deep breath.
"I do tell you everything! This is crazy, it was all the way back when my dad died, I just wanted to be alone for a little bit. You was always breathing down my back."
I rant, frustrated that it just seems to make him even more upset.
"Yeah, cause you was acting like you was going to jump off a bridge or something. You dumb bitch."
He growls.
"Bro, get out of my face."
I warn, bracing myself.
"What the hell is wrong with you, you heartless bastard!?"
He screams.
My face feels like it's on fire.
I take a deep breath.
"I understand that you're upset-"
"Oh my God...Did Ayah know?"
He pauses yet again.
Silence rings around us as I hesitate.
Fuck, I don't know what I should say.
"No-"
"Don't lie to me, asshole. Did you tell Ayah before you told me?"
I don't think I've ever seen him act like this.
...I don't even think this is about Ashley anymore.
When I don't say anything, he scoffs.
"Unbelievable. I knew you would get like this, I just knew it."
He turns but I hurry to grab his arm.
"Man, I ain't lying about nothing. Ayah doesn't have nothing to do with this. Don't go ruining nothing with her, this is all on me."
I say firmly.
He just stares, slowly yanking his arm away.
"Oh, you don't have to tell me. This is over, I can't believe I wasted all this time trusting you."
He spits.
I just try not to roll my eyes.
He doesn't mean that, he always says stuff like that when we fight.
I do feel bad nonetheless, he seems really disappointed, if anything.
"I'm sorry, Mason. I really am."
I sigh, running my fingers through my hair.
He doesn't seem too convinced.
